Dokuzuncu sınıf öğrencilerinin bilgi ve iletişim teknolojisi dersine yönelik görüşleri ve beklentileri

Abstract

Bu çalışma ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojisi dersine yönelik görüşlerini ve beklentilerini belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. "Öğrencilerin bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileriyle ilgili görüşleri nelerdir?", "Öğrencilerin bilgisayar kullanma yeterliliği hakkında görüşleri nelerdir?" , "Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojisi dersiyle ilgili öğrencilerin görüşleri nelerdir?" sorularına yanıt arayan bu araştırma, öğrencilerin bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri hakkındaki düşüncelerinin ortaya konması, bilgisayar kullanma yeterliliklerinin belirlenmesi, Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojisi dersi hakkındaki düşünceleri ile dersin öğrencilerin beklentilerine ve çağın gereklerine göre güncellenmesinin sağlanması açısından önemlidir. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak fenomenolojik desende yürütülmüştür. Katılımcılar, 2012-2013 eğitim öğretim yılında Adıyaman ili Gölbaşı ilçesindeki Anadolu Lisesinde 9. sınıfta okuyan 30 öğrenciden oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin toplanmasında görüşme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Görüşmelerin yapılmasında uzman görüşü alınarak hazırlanan açık uçlu sorularım bulunduğu bir form kullanılmıştır. Görüşme süreci ses kayıt cihazıyla kaydedilmiştir. Kaydedilen ses kayıtları daha sonra bilgisayar ortamına aktarılmış ve dinlenerek yazıya geçirilmiştir. Yazıya geçirilen verilerin analiz edilebilmesi için içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. İçerik analizi yapılırken öğrencilerden elde edilen veriler dikkatli bir şekilde incelenmiştir. İncelenen bu verilerden alt kodlar, kodlar ve temalar çıkarılmıştır. Bu alt kodlar, kodlar ve temalar ışığında veriler kodlanarak analiz edilmiş ve bulgular kısmında verilmiştir. Elde edilen bulguları desteklemek amacıyla da öğrencilerin görüşlerinden doğrudan alıntılar yapılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular alt problemler ve temalara bağlı kalınarak ortaya konmuş ve yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre: Bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri, öğrenciler tarafından en çok iletişim sağlamada kullanılan ve hayatı kolaylaştıran araçlar olarak görülmektedir. Ayrıca bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin öneminin öğrenciler tarafından bilindiği ve bu teknolojilerin okulda ders olarak okutulması gerektiği anlaşılmıştır. Bilgisayar kullanma yeterliliği açısından öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun orta düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojisi dersiyle ilgili olarak, dersin içeriğinin güncellenmesi gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Dersin içeriğinin ve araç gereçlerinin görme engelli öğrenciler için uygun olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Güncel konular olduğu takdirde dersin öğrenciler tarafından daha çok önemseneceği ve alınmak isteneceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Sonuçlara dayalı olarak dersin içeriğini güncellenmesi gerektiği, güncelleme sürecinde paydaş görüşlerinin de alınmasının katkı getireceği, Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojisi dersiyle ilgili YGS ve LYS'de soru sorulması ve dersin güncellenme sonrası zorunlu olması önerilmektedir. This study purposes to explore views and expectations of ninth grade students on Information and Communication Technologies course, a selective course in Anatolian high school curriculum. This study goals to find answers about the course such as: "What are students' opinions about Information and communication technologies?", "What do they think about their computer skills?", "What do they think about Information and Communication Technologies course?". The study is important because the results of the study will help to understand students needs and views, and their skills on using computer so that we can improve and update Information and Communication Technologies course to meet their requirements in line with the contemporary developments. We used qualitative method, phenomenological desing in the study. The researcher conducted interviews 9th grade Anatolian high school students in Gölbaşı district of Adıyaman during 2012-2013 educational year with 30 ninth grade students. Open ended questions developed by experts were used in interviews. Interviews were recorded by a tape recorder. Voice records were later transcribed and computerized. Content analysis method was utilized to analyze transcriptions. Data gained from students was carefully analyzed during the content analysis process. Subcodes, codes and themes were derived from the data. Data was encoded in the light of these subcodes, codes and themes and given in the findings. Findings were supported by quotations from students' opinions. Findings of the research were presented and evaluated in accordance with sub-problems and themes. The results show that Information and communication technologies means to students as effective communication tools that make life easier so that they should be taught at schools. Majority of the students have average computer skills. Content of the course needs to be updated. It was also found out that content and tools of the course were not adequate for visually handicapped students. It was concluted that if there are current topics of the course will be taken more seriously and required by the students. It was concluded that the course content should be up-to-date, the course should be compulsory and university entance exam should include Information and Communication Technologies Course questions to engage students with Information and communication technologies more intentionally and effectively.
