Bibliyoterapi tekniğinin üstün zekalı/ yetenekli öğrencilerin okumaya yönelik tutum ve problem çözme becerisine etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı bibliyoterapi tekniğinin her yönüyle tanıtılması ve üstün zekâlı/yetenekli bireylerin özelliklerini göz önünde bulundurarak seçilecek çocuk edebiyatı metinlerinin bu yöntem ile bir modele dönüştürülmesi ve bu modelin üstün zekâlı/yetenekli öğrencilerin okumaya yönelik tutumları ile problem çözme becerisi üzerindeki etkisini tespit etmektir. Araştırma 2015-2016 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Bilsem'de eğitim gören 6.sınıf düzeyindeki 12 üstün zekâlı/yetenekli öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada bu çalışma içerisinde araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen "Okumaya yönelik tutum ölçeği" ile (Sezgin, 2011) tarafından geliştirilen "Problem çözme becerisi değerlendirme ölçeği" araştırmanın nicel boyutunda veri toplamak amacıyla kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel boyutunda ise araştırmacının etkinlik boyunca kaleme aldığı gözlem notları ve öğrencilerin tuttuğu günlükler veri toplamak amacıyla kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yönteminin yanında nicel sonuçları destekleme, açıklama ve yeniden yorumlamak amacıyla nitel verilerden de yararlanılmış nicel ve nitel yöntemlerin bir arada kullanıldığı karma yöntem benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda çalışmada tek analiz grubu yer aldığı için ön test-son test kontrol grupsuz yarı deneysel model kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda uygulanan model ile üstün zekâlı/yetenekli öğrencilerin okumaya yönelik tutumlarının olumlu yönde değiştiği ve problem çözme beceri düzeylerinde artış olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bibliyoterapi sadece terapi amacıyla kullanılmaz. Bu tekniğin önleyici etkisinin de oldukça yüksek olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu nedenle özellikle okullar bazında sınıf içinde öğretmenlere uygulamalı bir şekilde verilecek bir eğitim ile bu tekniğin önleyici olarak öğretmenler tarafından kullanılması yararlı olacaktır.

The aim of this research is to introduce the bibliotherapy technique in every direction and to transform the texts of the children's literature to be selected by considering the characteristics of the gifted / talented individuals and to determine the effect of this model on the problem-solving ability with the attitudes of the gifted / talented students to read. The study was conducted with 12 gifted / talented students at the 6th grade level who were educated at Bilsem during the 2016-2017 education year. In this study, the "Problem solving skills assessment scale" developed by the researcher (Sezgin, 2011) was used to collect data in the quantitative dimension. In the qualitative dimension of the research, observation notes taken by the researcher during the activity and logs kept by the students were used to collect data. The research has adopted a mixed method of quantitative and qualitative methods that are used qualitatively in order to support, explain and re-interpret quantitative results. As there is only one analysis group in the study of quantitative dimension of the research, pre-test-post-test semi-experimental model without control group was used. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the attitude towards reading of the gifted / talented students changed positively and the level of problem solving skills increased. Bibliotherapy is not only used for therapy. It is known that the preventive effect of this technique is also quite high. For this reason, it will be useful to use this technique in a practical way, especially in schools, by teachers in the classroom, and to use this technique by the teachers as a preventive.
