Abstract:
Reality therapy is kind of therapy which is quite effective in dealing with social phobia and related problems. The aim of this experimental study is to present the effect of psycho-education program based on reality therapy on dealing with adolescence shyness. Shyness scale and Subjective Shyness associated Wellbeing Scale were used in order to collect data in the research. In the study consisting of an experiment group of 12 and control group of 12, and education program based on reality therapy was applied and pretest and posttest study was carried out on the results. As a result of the applied program in consequence of statistical analyses. Shyness levels of the individuals in the experiment group decreased and their Shyness associated Subjective Wellbeing levels increased. This situation proves that the studies based on reality therapy are effective in dealing with adolescence shyness.
