Türkçeyi yabancı dil olarak öğrenen öğrencilerdeki akademik Türkçe söz varlığı ile akademik Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki söz varlığı = Academic vocabulary of students who learn Turkish as a foreign language and vocabulary in academic Turkish textbooks

Abstract

Bu araştırma kapsamında yabancı öğrenciler için hazırlanmış Akademik Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki söz varlıklarını ve Akademik Türkçe dersine devam eden yabancı öğrencilerin yazılı anlatımlarındaki söz varlıklarını tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Türkiye'de Türkçeyi yabancı dil olarak öğrenen öğrencilere yönelik olarak hazırlanan toplam dokuz Akademik Türkçe ders kitabı incelenmiş ve kitaplar sosyal bilimler, fen bilimleri ve sağlık bilimleri olarak üç temada değerlendirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin yazılı anlatımlarındaki söz varlığı ögelerini tespit etmek amacıyla Sakarya Üniversitesi TÖMER'de akademik Türkçe derslerine devam eden 125 öğrenci çalışma grubu olarak seçilmiştir. Bu araştırma nicel araştırma desenlerinden tarama modelinde yürütülmüştür. Öğrencilerin yazılı anlatımları, araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Bu formlar sosyal bilimler, fen bilimleri ve sağlık bilimleri temalarında hazırlanmış açık uçlu sorulardan oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama metodu olarak doküman incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Veriler, betimsel (nicel) istatistikler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda elde edilen bulgulardan hareketle ulaşılan sonuçlardan bazıları şunlardır: Sosyal bilimler, sağlık bilimleri ve fen bilimleri alanındaki kitapların toplam söz varlığı sayısı bakımından uyumsuzluk gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Akademik Türkçe ders kitaplarında tespit edilen söz varlığı unsurları ve öğrencilerin yazılı anlatımlarında yer alan söz varlığı unsurlarının sıklık ve yaygınlık durumları tablolarla gösterilmiştir. Ders kitaplarında ve öğrencilerin yazılı anlatımlarında yer alan söz varlığı unsurları karşılaştırılarak öğrencilerin kullandığı fakat Akademik Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer almayan söz varlıkları tespit edilerek sayısal verilerle sunulmuştur.

Within the context of this research, it is aimed to determine the vocabulary in the academic Turkish textbooks which are prepared for the foreign students and to determine the foreing students' vocabulary in written expression in the academic Turkish classes. In accordance of this purpose, nine academic Turkish textbooks which are prepared for the students who learn Turkish as a foreign languge in Turkey have been analysed and the books are evaluated in three basic themes which are social studies, sciences and health sciences. On the purpose of determining students' vocabulary elements in written expression, 125 Students who attending academic Turkish classes in TOMER Sakarya University have been selected as study population. This study has been carried out in the model of survey which is one of the qualitative research designs. Students' written expresions have been collected by using semi-structured interview forms which are made by the researchers. These forms have been consisted of open-ended questions in the themes of social studies, sciences and health sciences. In the second stage of the research, document analysis has been used as data collection tool. The data has been analysed by using descriptive statics. Some of the results obtained from the findings obtained as a result of the study are as follows: It has been found that the books in the field of social sciences, health sciences and natural sciences show inconsistency in terms of the total number of vocabulary. The frequency and prevalence of the vocabulary elements found in the academic Turkish textbooks and the vocabulary elements in the written expressions of the students are presented as tables. By comparing the vocabulary elements in the textbooks and in the written expressions of the students, the vocabulary used by the students but not included in the Academic Turkish coursebooks were determined and presented as numerical data.
