Abstract:
50.4B(2)O(3) - 30SiO(2) - (19.6 x) Li2O - x Fe2O3, x = (0 <= x <= 2 mol%) glasses are studied for optical, and radiation characteristics. XRD was used to determine the structural characteristics of the proposed glasses. The chief objective of this article is to fabricate high density samples with replacing Li2O with Fe2O3 to investigate the optics and radiation characteristics. Density, and refractive index of fabricated glasses have all been found to be higher. As the concentration of Fe2O3 rises, energy bandgap reduces. The radiation shielding characteristics were examined using Phy-X/PSD. Increases in the Fe2O3 ratio have a positive impact on MAC values. These results reveal G 5 as the best candidate for shielding against gamma radiation.
