Pandemi sürecinde üniversite öğrencilerinin uzaktan eğitim ders izleme verilerinin değerlendirilmesi = Evaluation of distance edication course follow-up data of university students during the pandemic process

Abstract

Covid-19 ile birlikte okullarda uzaktan eğitim kararları alınmış ve Türkiye'deki üniversiteler de bu karara uyarak 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılını uzaktan alınan derslerle gerçekleştirmiştir. Böylece hem sınıf ortamında doğacak covid-19 bulaşma riskinin engellenmesi, hem de öğrenimin devam edebilmesi sağlanmak istenmektedir. Bu süreçte, uzaktan eğitimde öğrencilerin hangi oranlarda canlı derslere katıldığı, cinsiyete, üniversiteye göre katılım oranlarında farklılıklar gösterip göstermediği gibi soruların cevaplanması, uzaktan eğitimin verimliliğinin değerlendirilmesi için gereklidir. Bu gereklilikten yola çıkarak dünyada yaşanan Covid-19 pandemisi nedeniyle Türkiye' de örgün öğretimin durdurulup uzaktan eğitime devam edildiği 2020-2021 Bahar Dönemi' nde, öğrencilerin canlı derslere katılımı, ders, üniversite, bölüm, cinsiyet gibi farklı faktörler açısından değerlendirilmiş ve bu dönemin Türkiye açısından verimliliği sorgulanmak istenmektedir. Bunun için Türkiye'de pek çok okul tarafından tercih edilen ve kullanılan, Advancity firmasının ürettiği eğitim sistemi ALMS (Advancity Learning Management System) programı kayıtlarından faydalanılmıştır, Öğrencilerin sınavlarda aldıkları puanları karşılaştırıp izleme oranı ile sınav başarıları arasında ki ilişki tespit edilmek istenmektedir. Bunun için birçok üniversite tarafından tercih edilen ALMS programında derslerini canlı olarak işleyen üniversitelerin matematik, biyoistatistik ve edebiyat derslerine ait kayıtlardan faydalanılarak istatistiksel analizler hazırlanmıştır. Öğrencilerin uzaktan ders izleme davranışları çeşitli faktörler açısından tanımlanmış; cinsiyet, bölüm açısından izleme oranlarında anlamlı fark olup olmadığı araştırılmış ve ayrıca farklı dersler için izleme oranlarının öğrenci final notlarındaki başarılara katkı sağlayıp sağlamadığı incelenmiştir. Analiz bulguları sonucunda öğrencilerin %12,7' si hiç ders izlemediği görülmüştür. Ayrıca öğrencilerin üçte biri final sınavına girmemiştir. Sınava giren öğrencilerin final sınav başarıları canlı izleme oranlarıyla zayıf derece ilişkili olduğu görülmüştür. Son olarak sınav notlarının istatistiklerine bakıldığında, hocaların yüksek not verdiği (medyan 80) söylenebilir. Tezde elde edilen bulguların hem eğitimciler hem de eğitim için yazılım geliştiriciler açısından, uzaktan eğitimin daha kaliteli ve daha verimli olması için faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Ayrıca, uzaktan eğitimin ileride hayatımızın bir parçası olarak kalacağı incelenen çalışmalarda öngörülmektedir. Bu çalışma ile de uzaktan eğitim alanında literatürde yer alan boşluğa destek olmak amaçlanmış ve Türkiye genelinde uzaktan eğitim ders işleme verilerinin kapsamlı bir şekilde değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
