The Times Gazetesi’ne Göre Atatürk’ün Vefatı

Abstract

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kurucusu Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün 10 Kasım 1938 tarihinde vefatı, yurt içinde olduğu gibi yurtdışındaki gazetelerde de geniş yankı bulmuştu. Bu gazetelerden birisi, İngiliz hükümetlerinin resmî yayın organı olacak kadar etkili yayın politikaları izleyen The Times’dır. The Times gazetesinde vefatından önce Atatürk’ün hastalığı ile alakalı detaylı haberler çıkmış, vefatının ertesi gün yani 11 Kasım 1938 tarihinde biri tam sayfa biyografisi olmak üzere üç haber çıkmıştı. Bundan sonraki günlerde de The Times gazetesinde Atatürk’ten sonra Türkiye’nin durumu ve cenaze töreni ile ilgili geniş haberler yer almıştı. Bu yazıların hepsinde Atatürk saygı duyulacak, yeri doldurulmayacak büyük bir asker, kurucu, idareci olarak anlatılmıştır. The Times gibi bir gazetede bu türden haberler çıkmasının nedeni, iki devlet arasındaki politikaların değişmesinin yanında Atatürk’ün şahsında yatmaktadır.

The death of the Mustapha Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, in 10 November 1938 was widespread dealt at the abroad newspapers like at the domestic newspapers. One of these newspapers was The Times, which follows effective news as being the official newspaper of the British governments. In The Times, disease of Ataturk before the death was issued in detail and on the following day of his death, 11 November 1938, there were much news about Ataturk, one of them was the biography of Ataturk as a full page. Ataturk was told as regarding someone with reverence, and irreplaceable a great soldier, a founder and an administrator in at all news. The reason of such this news issued in the Times was the Ataturk’s personality beside the good relationship between the two states recently.
