I. Meşrutiyet'ten Cumhuriyet'e din eğitimi alanındaki gelişmeler

Abstract

I. Meşrutiyet'in ilanından Cumhuriyet'in ilanına kadar olan Meşrutiyet Dönemi (1876-1922) eğitim ve özellikle din eğitimi alanında modernleşmenin ve ıslahatların oldukça yoğun olduğu bir dönem olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Eğitimde çok boyutlu modernleşme sürecinin büyük bir kısmını oluşturan Meşrutiyet Dönemi, eğitim meselesinin öneminin ve toplumsal değişmedeki rolünün fark edildiği; bu bağlamda eğitim meselelerinin çokça tartışıldığı ve ele alındığı bir dönem olmuştur. Bu dönemde düşünsel alanda yapılan tartışmalar Osmanlı eğitimine yön vermiş, din eğitimini de derinden etkileyecek şekilde sonuçlanmıştır. Meşrutiyet'ten Cumhuriyet'e kadar olan dönem, dinî bir nitelikte olan Osmanlı eğitiminin çehresinin değiştiği, bu suretle din eğitimi alanı açısından da büyük ölçüde değişiklerin yaşandığı bir dönem olmuştur. Bu dönemin eğitim ve din eğitimi alanındaki gelişmeleri yalnızca o döneme ait olmamış, Cumhuriyet Dönemine de tevarüs etmiştir. Meşrutiyet Dönemi, yapılan reformlar ve hürriyet ortamının tesisiyle Cumhuriyet'in laboratuvarı olarak görülmüştür. Bu nedenle Meşrutiyet Dönemi din eğitimi alanındaki gelişmeleri tespit etmek hem tarihî tecrübenin tespiti hem de günümüz din eğitimi problemlerini tarihî tecrübelere dayanarak çözme imkanı vermesi açısından önemlidir. Bu çalışma, Meşrutiyet Dönemi din eğitimi alanındaki gelişmeleri dönemin süreli yayınlarındaki eğitim tartışmaları üzerinden ortaya koymaktadır. Son dönem Osmanlı'daki din eğitimi tartışmalarının neler olduğunun tespit edilmesi bu çalışmanın hareket noktasını oluşturmaktadır. Nitel araştırma yöntemiyle yapılan çalışmanın verileri, Sırât-ı Müstakîm, Sebîlü'r-Reşâd, İçtihad, Türk Yurdu, Tedrîsât-ı İbtidâîyye Mecmuası, Terbiye Mecmuası, Muallim dergilerinden doküman incelemesi yöntemiyle elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular, Türkiye'nin yüz yılı aşkın eğitim tecrübesi ve yapılan onca reforma rağmen Meşrutiyet Dönemi eğitim tartışmalarının çoğunun günümüzde de tartışılmaya ve çözüm beklemeye devam ettiğini ortaya koymaktadır.

The Constitutional Period (1876-1922), from the proclamation of the First Ottoman Constitution to the proclamation of the Turkish Republic, was a period when modernization and reforms in the field of education and specifically in religious education were quite intense. The Constitutional Period was the period in which education was seen as an important issue, the role of education in social change was recognised, and educational issues were much discussed and written. During this period, the discussions in the intellectual field gave direction to Ottoman education and deeply affected the field of religious education. The developments in the field of education and religious education of this period did not only belong to that period, but also affested the Republican Period. This period was seen as the laboratory of the Republic. For this reason, determining the developments in the field of religious education in the Constitutional Period is important both in terms of determining the historical experience and providing the opportunity to solve today's religious education problems based on historical experiences. This study reveals the developments in the field of religious education during the Constitutional Period through the discussions on education in periodicals of the period. The data of this study were obtained from of Sırât-ı Müstakîm, Sebîlü'r-Reşâd, İçtihad, Türk Yurdu, Tedrîsât-ı İbtidâîye Mecmuası, Terbiye Mecmuası, Muallim by the method of document analysis. The findings suggest that despite Turkey's more than a hundred years of educational experience and numerous reforms, the educational issues of the Constitutional Period is still continue to be debated.
