1. ÖZET İçten yanmalı motorlarda kullanılan klasik supap zamanlamasında, motorun belli bir devri ve yükü göz önüne alındığından, silindire alınan hava miktarı, motorun geçiş devirlerinde ve değişik devir aralıklarında yetersiz kalmaktadır. Bu durum, motorda volumetrik verimi azalmasına ve egzoz emisyon salınımının artmasına neden olmaktadır. Bilindiği üzere, motor performansına etki eden en önemli parametrelerden birisi volumetrik verimdir. Volumetrik verime etki eden parametreler olarak; atmosferik şartlar, silindir içi termodinamik özellikler, hava akış alanı, motor devri, emme supabının açılma-kapanma zamanları, supap kalkma miktarı vb. gösterilebilir. Bu projede, bu parametrelerden emme supap zamanlamasının volumetrik verim üzerine etkisi deneysel ve üç boyutlu model üzerinden incelenecektir. Deneylerde, klasik kamlı buji ateşlemeli bir motor elektromekanik supap kontrollü (kamsız) bir motora dönüştürülmüştür. Bu çalışmada, motorun belirli devir aralıkları için emme supabının çalışma parametrelerinin (emme supabının açılıp-kapanma zamanı ve supap kalkış miktarının değişimi) optimizasyonu ile motorun düşük ve yüksek devirleri arasında emme manifoldundaki akışın kontrolü sağlanarak, volumetrik verimin tüm devirlerde maksimum seviyede tutulması sağlanmıştır. Düşük devirlerde daha yüksek hava akış kararlılığı sağlanıp, yüksek devirlerde içeri alınan havanın hızı ve kinetik enerjisi gerekli supap zamanlamaları ile optimize edilmiştir. Bu projede supap çalışma parametrelerinin, emme manifoldundaki akış üzerine etkisi deneysel ve sayısal yöntemlerle (CFD) incelenmiştir. Proje iki aşamada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Birinci aşamada (deneysel aşama), klasik kam miline sahip bir benzinli motor elektrik motoruna bağlanarak, yanmasız (motorize) bir ortamda, motorun belli devirleri (1000-3000 dev/dk) arasında emme manifoldundaki kütlesel hava debisi ölçülmüştür. Daha sonra, aynı motor, elektromekanik supap kontrollü motora çevrilerek, kamsız motor sistemi ile testler yapılmıştır. Elektromekanik supap sistemi, bir mikro kontrolör devresi tarafından kontrol edilerek, klasik motor için tanımlanan sabit devir şartlarında, emme supap zamanı ve supap kalkış miktarı değişiminin kütlesel hava debisi üzerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Her bir emme supap zamanlaması ve supap kalkış miktarı değişimi için elde edilen kütlesel hava debisi klasik motor verileri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Projenin ikinci aşaması ise, atmosferik şartlar, supap zamanlaması ve kalkış miktarı, motor tasarımı kullanarak modelleme çalışmasının yapılmasıdır. Klasik kam ve kamsız sistem ile deneysel olarak yapılması planlanan valf zamanı denemeleri ile eş zamanlı olarak bilgisayar destekli akışkan dinamiği (CFD) tabanlı bir bilgisayar programında analizler gerçekleştirilmiştir. ABSTRACT The amount of air taken into the cylinder is insufficient at transient engine speeds and different speed ranges for valve timing using in conventional internal combustion engines because a certain engine speed and load are considered. This leads to a reduction in the volumetric efficiency of the engine and an increase in exhaust emissions. As known, volumetric efficiency is one of the most important parameters that influence the engine performance. The parameters affecting the volumetric efficiency include atmospheric conditions, the thermodynamic properties in the cylinder, the air flow area, engine speed, intake valve opening and closing times, the amount of valve lift and etc. In this project, the effects of intake valve timing on volumetric efficiency examined with the experimental and modeling results. In the experiments, the spark ignition engine with classical cam controlled engine converted to the electromechanical controlled camless engine. In this study, the intake valve operating parameters (the valve opening and closing timing and valve lift) for certain engine speed ranges with the optimization which is provide with the engine's intake manifold flow by way of controlled between the low and high engine speeds, linear course of volumetric efficiency (close to ideal) tried to be obtained. Stability higher airflow at low engine speed is established and the air velocity and kinetic energy at high engine speed are being optimized with intake valve timings. In this project, the effect of operating parameters of the valve on airflow in intake manifold examined with use of the experimental and numerical methods. This project realized in two stages. In the first stage (experimental), by connecting the spark ignition engine with the classic camshaft to an electric motor, the mass airflow rate at the intake manifold measured at unfired (motorized) conditions for certain engine speeds (1000- 3000 rpm). Obtaining the mass airflow quantities with use of conventional spark ignition engines considered the reference for variable valve timing work. Then, the same spark ignition engine is converted to the engine with the electromechanical variable valve timing; camless engine system obtained. Electromechanical valve system was controlled by a microcontroller circuit at same constant engine speed conditions which are defined at the classic spark ignition engine and the effects of changing the intake valve timing and valve lift on the mass airflow were examined. The obtained mass airflow rate values by changing for each intake valve timing and valve lift compared with conventional engine values. In the second stage of the project, the modeling work is done by using the input values of the air properties, intake valve timing, valve lift, the mass airflow, volumetric efficiency etc. Experimental data measured by a conventional cam and camless systems analyzed the computer program based on computer-aided fluid dynamics (CFD).
