ÖZET Bilişmek, bilgi, bilgi teknolojileri, bilgi toplumu, bilgi devrimi vb. birbiriyle yakından alakalı kavramlar. Bu kavramların tüm ekonomik faaliyet alanlarının altyapısını oluşturması ve ekonomik gücün büyüklüğünü tayin edici nitelikte olması beklenmektedir. Bu çalışmada bilişmenin ve ilgili kavramların tanımları yapılmakta, bilişmenin farklı yönleri irdelenmekte ve yurdumuzda niçin tam manada bilişilemediğinin muhasebesi yapılmaktadır. Sade bir dille yazılmaya çalışılan çalışmada bazı çözüm önerileri de verilmektedir
ABSTRACT Information, Information technologies, information society, information revolution are concepts that are closely knit to each other. It is expected that these concepts will constitude the infrastructure for all possible economical activities and will determine the size of economic powers. The paper attempts to present definitions of concepts, discusses the different aspects of the use of information technologies and gives an account of why information technology cannot properly be used in Türkiye. A number of suggestions are given to remedy the observed problems. VI
