ÖZET Bu çalışmada demir esaslı yapısal parçalar toz metalürjisi yöntemi ile üretilmiştir. Üretim kademeleri sırasıyla şunlardır: 1) Tozların karıştırılması, 2) Soğuk presleme, 3) 1125°C'de ve parçalanmış amonyak atmosferi altında sinterleme, 4) Fırında soğutma. Demir^bakır ve demir-bakır-grafit karışımları olmak üzere iki farklı demir esaslı malzeme üretilmiştir. Demir-bakır karışımlarında bakır yüzdeleri %2'den, %3,5'e kadar 0.5 adımlarla arttırılmıştır. Demir-bakır-grafit karışımlarında ise bakır miktarı sabit tutulurken (%3), grafit miktarı %0'dan %1.25'e kadar 0.25 adımlarla arttırılmıştır. Sinterlenen numunelerin özelliklerini geliştirmek için ısıl işleme tabi tutulmuşlardır. Isıl işlem şartlan ise şunlardır: 800°C'de 120 dakika beklemek ve havada soğutmaya bırakmak. Netice olarak, üretilen demir esaslı yapısal parçaların ısıl işlem yapıldıktan sonra meydana gelen mikroyapısal değişikliklerin neler olduğu ve malzeme sertliğine nasıl etki yaptığı incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak yapılan çalışmaların sonunda numunelerin havada soğutulmasıyla oluşan ince taneli yapı ve numune yoğunluğunun artmasından dolayı demir-bakır alaşımı numunelerin sertliğinin arttığı tespit edilmiştir. Demir-bakır-grafit numunelerde ise grafit miktarının artmasıyla perlitik yapının oluşması gerçekleşmekte ve sertlik artışı meydana gelmektedir. Ayrıca ince taneli bir yapının oluşması da sertliği arttıran diğer bir faktördür.
(HARDNES OF FERROUS-BASE ALLOYS AND MICROSTRUCTURAL CHARACTERISATION) In this study, mechanical powder metallurgy processing involving powder mixing, cold pressing, sintering at 1125°C in a controlled reducing atmosphere based on hydrogen, dissociated ammonia, and cooling has been used to fabricate the ferrousbase alloys. Two different alloy systems were produced: 1) Fe-Cu alloys, 2) Fe-Cu-Graphite alloys. In the Fe-Cu alloy system, the content of copper was changed from 2% to 3.5% increased setp by 0.5%. In the Fe-Cu-Graphite alloy system, while the content of copper was held at a constant value (3%), the content of graphite was changed from 0 % to 1.25% increased step by 0.25%. Heat treatment consisting of 800°C for 120 minutes followed by air-cooling was carried out on compacted specimens in order to improve their properties. The main objectives of the present study are that the investigation of microstructure characterisation by light microscopy and the determination of hardness of heat- treated specimens are reported. The results show that the hardness of Fe-Cu alloy specimens increased due to the fine grain structure and high density of materials. The hardness of Fe-Cu-Graphite alloy specimens also increased with increasing the content of graphite within the alloy because of producing a pearlite structure. XI
