ÖZET Anahtar Kelimeler: Yeraltı Korozyonu, Katodik Koruma, Kaçak Akım, Korozyon Parametreleri, Anot, Redresör, Boru-Zemin Potansiyeli, Interferons Akım Bu çalışmada İSKİ isale hatları ve İGDAŞ doğal gaz çelik borularının katodik koruma kriterlerini etkileyen sebepler araştırılmış ve bu etkilerin en aza indirilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaçla; isale hatlarının ve doğal gaz çelik borularının katodik korumasının problemli olduğu bölgeler seçilmiştir. Bu yerlerdeki ölçü kutularından farklı zamanlarda boru-zemin potansiyelleri alınmış ve gerekli görünen yerlerin potansiyel değerlerini daha iyi analiz etmek için bir yazıcı kullanılmıştır. Alınan ölçümler neticesinde İSKİ ve İGDAŞ borularının en çok kaçak akıma maruz kaldığı bölgelerin, Topkapı ve çevresinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Kaçak akımların zararlı etkilerini en aza indirmek için tramway hattı ile boru hattı arasına Si diyot bağlanarak akımların tek yönde geçişi sağlanmış, böylece kaçak akımlar drenaj edilmiştir. Diğer taraftan trafo/redresör (T/R) üniteleri ile çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada T/R ünitesinin (-) kutbu boru hattına, (+) kutbu raya bağlanmış, kaçak akımın şiddetine göre boruya en elverişli gerilim uygulanmıştır. Bunun sonucunda hattın katodik koruma sınırlarına geldiği görülmüştür. İSKİ isale hatlarının Topkapı - Münzevi güzergahında çeşitli problemlerle karşılaşılmıştır. Onuncu Yıl caddesi üzerindeki vana odasına sürekli yeraltı sulan dolduğu ve bu suların uygulanan akımı hattın devamına ulaştırmadığı saptanmıştır. Bu suyun tahliyesi sonucu hattın düktü boru bağlantısına kadar korunduğu gözlenmiştir. İSKİ 'nin diğer (Ömerli - Küçükçamlıca, Küçükçamlıca - Bulgurlu, İbrahimağa) güzergahlarında zamanla yer hareketlerinden dolayı anot yatağı kuyularında çökmeler olmuştur. Bu kuyulara vibratörle ıslak kok tozu doldurularak anot yatağının direnci azaltılmıştır. Hattı besleyen T/R ünitelerindeki arızalar giderilmiştir. Drenaj noktasındaki ve hat üzerindeki ölçü kutularının, şöntlerin bağlantı kabloları kontrol edilmiş ve hasara uğrayanlar ise tamir edilmişlerdir. Bu eksikliklerin giderilmesi sonucu hatların katodik korumasının tam olarak sağlandığı gözlenmiştir. Ayıca İSKİ - İGDAŞ çelik boru hatlarının kesişim yerlerinde interferans etkisinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Buralarda her iki boru arasına metalik bağ direnci bağlanmıştır. Böylece zeminden geçip korozyona sebep olan iyon hareketi engellenmiş, akım bağ üzerinden taşınarak devresini tamamlaması sağlanmıştır. Uygulanan bu işlem sonucu interferans etkisinin gerçekten giderilmiş olduğu yapılan ölçümler neticesinde görülmüştür. XV
STUDY OF CATHODIC PROTECTION CRITERIA IN WATER AND NATURAL GAS PIPELINES Key Words: Underground Corrosion, Cathodic Protection, Stray Current, Pipe-Ground Potential, Corrosion Parameters, Anodes, Rectifiers, Interference Currents SUMMARY In this study, the reasons effecting the cathodic protection criteria on İSKİ water lines and İGDAŞ natural gas steel pipes have been investigated, and minimising these reasons has been the aim. For this reason, the local areas which have problems on water lines and cathodic protection criteria of naturel gas steel pipe lines have been chosen. The cathodic protection tests carried out at these locations, the pipe- ground potential results were recorded at certain intervals. As a result of tests carried out in different locations on İGDAŞ and İSKİ pipe lines, it was found that the maximum stray current was observed on the pipe lines located around the Topkapi area. To reduce the harmful effect of stray currents on a pipe line integrity, Si-diode was connected between the tramway lines and pipe lines. So that the flow was allowed to pass in predetermined direction, thus the stray currents were drained. On the other hand the work was carried out with transformer and rectifier (T/R) units. Negative (-) pole of T/R was connected to the pipe line, while the positive (+) pole was connected to the tram-line. The potantial applied to the pipe will be dependent on the stray currents intensity. Consequently it was observed that the pipe line potential had come to the cathodic protection range. Several problems were faced on the Topkapı-Münzevi line. On the 10. Yıl Caddesi the uderground valve room was often flooded by the underground water, this will prevent the current from reaching the rest of the pipe line. As a result of water drainage from the valve room the pipe line was protected until the ductile junction. Other locations of İSKİ pipe lines, (Ömerli-Küçükçamlıca, Küçükçamlıca-Bulgurlu, İbrahimağa etc.) because of underground movements, anode beds seen to be collapsing gradually. Using vibrators, these beds were filled with wet coke powder and thereby reducing the resistance of anod bed. The damages on the T/R units, which supply currents to the line, was repaired. The connection wires on the cathodic protection test points and shunts at the drainage points were controlled and damaged ones were repaired. As a result of this, cathodic protection for the pipe lines were fully achieved. At the intersection of İSKİ-İGDAŞ steel pipe lines the effect of interference has been determined. Around these locations between two steel pipe lines metallic wire, which is used to carry stray currents, with resistance was connected. By doing so ion motion which pass through ground was prevented to take place. From the taken measurements after these prosesses it was understood that, the effect of the interference currents have been partially eliminated. xvi
