Kentsel mekanın paylaşılması sorunu : Tophane örneği

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasında kentsel değişim literaturünü ilgilendiren kuramsal tartışmalar ve bu olguya yönelik belli çevrelerde dile getirilen eleştirel anlayışlar değerlendirilmeye çalışılırken ana hatlarıyla bu olgunun modern dünya ve onun insan kaynağı olan bireyleri için ne tür bir tehdit içerdiği de gösterilmeye çalışılacaktır. The main point of this study which focuses on urban residence sharing problem by exemplifying the Tophane district is to determine which elements are included in the sharing problem on the basis of identity.As a result, we conclude that urban residence is a factor to specify cultural identities which is in accordance with the hypotheses we have set up. Some of the decomposition models inherited from the Ottomans have been taken into consideration for the related urban residence. This situation which functions as a genetic inheritance on the people of the district today has been seen in this thesis study and it has tried to show its historical background in the relevant section. The Tophane district is deployed from old residence to new residence, Kumbaracı Yokuşu, during the monotype projects which are implemented by republican elites. However, the Tophane district is still a Muslim residence for the people living there.Also, people living in the district believe that the natural places of non-Muslims are Beyoğlu, specifically İstiklal Street and area of Tünel. We talked to people living in the district both about situations which exemplify the current residence sharing problem and about the reasons of recent gallery invasions. The aim is to designate casual data properly as the source of the residence sharing problem in Tophane. Keywords: Urban Space, Urban Change, Regeneration, Urban Sharing, gentrification
