Die rezeption der Türkischen literatur im Deutschen sprachraum unter besonderer berücksichtigung aktueller übersetzungsvorhaben

Abstract

Türk Edebiyatının Almanya'da Alımlaması başlıklı bu doktora tezi Alman dilinin hâkim olduğu ülkelerin edebi alanında Türk edebiyatının yerini incelemek ve güncel konumunu belirlemek amacı taşımaktadır.İngilizce, Almanca ve Fransızca gibi hiper merkezi ve merkezi diller dışındaki dillerin edebiyatlarının kitap piyasasında şansının daha düşük olduğu çeviri sosyolojik tespitinden yola çıkılarak Türk edebiyatının Almanca konuşulan ülkelerde nasıl tanıtılacağı, piyasaya sürüleceği, algılanacağı ve alımlanacağı araştırılacaktır. Uluslara bakış, ele alınan edebiyatın algılanmasına etki ettiğinden ve çevrilen eserlerin benimsenmesine katkı sağlayabileceğinden Almanların Türkiye'ye bakışının nasıl oluştuğu gibi imagolojik bakış açıları araştırmada ele alınacaktır. Türkçeden Almancaya çeviri tarihinin tamamlanması Türk Alman bağlamı için önem taşımaktadır. Bunun sebebi ise Türkiye ile Almanya arasında çok yakın ekonomik ve kültürel ilişkilerin bulunması ile Türklerin Almanya'daki en büyük göçmen topluluğu olmasıdır. Türkçeden Almancaya yapılan edebi eser çevirilerinin tarihine genel bir bakış ile, hangi eserlerin hangi dönem aralığında kim tarafından, hangi sebeple ve hangi amaç ile Almancaya çevrildiği araştırılacaktır. Araştırmanın temelinde Türk edebiyatından Almancaya yürütülen iki büyük çeviri projesi yer almaktadır. Bu projelerden biri Robert-Bosch Vakfının öncülük edip desteklediği Unionsverlag'ın Türkische Bibliothek (Türk Kitaplığı) çalışması, diğeri ise yalnızca Türk edebiyatından eserler yayımlayan bağımsız bir Berlin yayınevi olan binooki'nin 24 kitaplık çalışmasıdır. 20 eserden oluşan Türkische Bibliothek 20.yy başlarındaki Türk modernleşmesinden, günümüz edebiyatına kadarki sürecin örneklerini içeriğinde barındırmaktadır. binooki ise özellikle şu an Türkiye'de güncel olan genç kentsel edebiyatından eserler yayımlamaktadır. 19. yy. sonlarındaki ilk çeviriden günümüze kadar yapılan Türkçeden Almancaya edebi çevirilerin durumunun tespiti her bir eserin Alman dilinin hâkim olduğu ülkelerde nasıl alımlandığı sorgulanacaktır. Parametre olarak ise satış rakamları, eleştiriler ve okuyucu yorumları göz önünde bulundurulacaktır. Araştırmanın bir sonucu olarak Türkçeden Almancaya yürütülen çeviri faaliyetlerinin her dönemde iki ülke arasındaki ilişkilerin kalitesine bağlı olduğu ve bu durumun çevrilen eserlerin sayısında azalma ve artma şeklinde hareketlenme meydana getirdiği tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra 2008 yılında Türkiye'nin Frankfurt Uluslararası Kitap Fuarına misafir ülke olarak katılmasının Türk edebiyatı algısında olumlu bir değişim sağladığı ve sağlamaya devam ettiği görülmüştür. Diğer taraftan hala mevcut olan Türkiye hakkındaki olumsuz imaj Türk edebiyatının önyargılardan arındırılarak benimsenmesini engellemektedir. Türk edebiyatının Almanca konuşulan ülkelerin kitap piyasasında bulunması, eskiden olduğu gibi çeviri pazarına hâkim normlara aykırılık olarak kabul edilmekte ve bu durumu aydınlatan açıklamalar gerektirmektedir. Bu nedenle Türk edebiyatının, gelecekte de dikkate alınması için her iki ülke tarafından çeviri teşviki gibi kurumsal desteklere, edebiyat ve kültür festivalleri ile kitap fuarlarına katılmaya ihtiyacı vardır. Türk edebiyatının ön yargılardan arındırılmış olarak algılanması sadece ve sadece Türkiye'ye ve Türkiye'nin kültürel sermayesine farklı bir bakış ile mümkün olabilir. The PhD thesis Rezeption der türkischen Literatur in Deutschland (The Reception of Turkish Literature in Germany) aims to examine the position of Turkish literature within the literary field of German-speaking countries and to define its current standing. Starting from the translation-sociological proposition that literature written in languages which do not belong to the hypercentral or central languages such as English, French or German are less successful on the literary market, it will inquire into how Turkish literature is presented, marketed, perceived and received in German-speaking countries. Imagological aspects like the evolution of the image of Turkey will be included into the inquiry, as the dominant image of nations impacts the perception of a given literature and as such contributes to if and how the translated literature is received. For the Turkish-German context a reappraisal of the history of translation from Turkish to German is of interest, since close economic and cultural ties have traditionally existed between Turkey and Germany and Turks represent the largest immigrant group in Germany. An overview of the history so far of the translation of literary works from Turkish to German will illustrate which works at what time were translated into German by whom with what motivation and to what end. Two large translation projects for Turkish literature will be the main focus of this present examination: on the one hand the Robert-Bosch-Foundation initiated and supported Türkische Bibliothek published by Unionsverlag (2005-2010), and on the other the 24 books published so far by the independent Berlin-based publisher binooki who exclusively releases Turkish literature. The 20-volume Türkische Bibliothek starts with the beginning of Turkish modern literature in the early 20th century and leads up to examples of contemporary literature. binooki mainly published young, urban literature read in Turkey at the moment. Using an inventory of literary translations from Turkish to German from the first translations at the end of the 19th century up until today, the question as to the reception of the given work in the German-speaking world will be posed. The parameters used in this inquiry are amongst others: sales figures, book reviews and readers' comments. One of the revelations of the present examination is that the dynamism of translations from Turkish into German is tied up with the quality of the relations between the two countries at a given time re-sulting in an up and down in the quantity of the translated works. Moreover, it is visible that on the one hand, particularly around the year 2008, when Turkey was the guest nation at the Frankfurt Inter¬national Book Fair, a positive change in the perception of Turkish literature has taken place and is con¬¬tinuing to take place. However, on the other hand a still mainly negative image of Turkey hinders a perception of Turkish literature free of prejudice; the existence of which on the literary market of German-speaking countries is still understood as a deviation from the dominant norms of the market for translation and as requiring special justification. On the basis of this fact it can be assumed that Turkish literature will in future continue to have to rely on institutional support in the form of trans¬lation grants from the German or Turkish side as well as the participation in book fairs as well as literary and cultural festivals in order to have an impact. In the medium to long-term only a changed perspective on Turkey and its cultural capital will lead to an open-minded reception of Turkish literature.
