Adolesanların nargilenin sağlığa etkileri ile ilgili algıları

Abstract

GİRİŞ VE AMAÇ: Son yıllarda tütünün nargile şeklinde tüketimi özellikle gençler arasında önemli bir artış göstermektedir. Bu çalışma, nargilenin sağlığa etkileri ile ilgili algıları belirlemede kullanılabilecek "Nargilenin Sağlığa Etkileri Algı Ölçeği"nin geliştirilmesi, geçerlilik güvenirliğinin test edilmesi, adolesanların nargilenin sağlığa etkileri ile ilgili algılarını ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacı ile gerçekleştirildi. GEREÇ VE YÖNTEM: Metodolojik ve analitik özellikte planlanan araştırma, benzer sosyo-ekonomik düzeydeki dört lise ve bir meslek eğitim merkezinde 01 Nisan/10 Mayıs 2014 tarihleri arasında yapıldı. Çalışmanın örneklemini ölçek geliştirilmesinde 150, çalışma grubunda 750 gönüllü öğrenci oluşturdu. Araştırma verileri araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan anket formu ve literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan "Nargilenin Sağlığa Etkileri Algı Ölçeği'' isimli 5'li Likert tipi ölçek ile toplandı. Veriler bilgisayar ortamında SPSS programında değerlendirildi. Ölçeğin güvenirliği ise test-tekrar test güvenirliği, madde-toplam puan korelasyonu ve iç tutarlık analizi ile belirlendi. Diğer verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzdelik, ortalama, independent sample t test ve ANOVA kullanıldı. BULGULAR: Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular geliştirilen ölçeğin nargilenin sağlığa etkileri ile ilgili algıları belirlemede kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu gösterdi. Çalışma grubundaki adolesanların yaş ortalaması 16,33±1,25'dir. Çalışma grubu için ölçeğin Cronbach's Alpha katsayısı 0,93 bulundu. Araştırmaya katılan adolesanların ölçekten aldıkları toplam puan ortalaması 58,47±1,25 olduğu belirlendi. Nargile içmeyenlerin Nargilenin Sağlığa Etkileri Algı Ölçeğinden aldıkları puan ortalamalarının (60,10±11,68) nargile içenlerin puan ortalamalarından (51,62±13,77) yüksek olduğu ve aralarındaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu saptandı. SONUÇ: Geliştirilen Nargilenin Sağlığa Etkileri Algı Ölçeği'nin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu tespit edildi. Nargile kullanan gençlerin nargilenin sağlığa etkileri ile ilgili algılarının nargile kullanmayanlara göre daha düşük olduğu belirlendi. INTRODUCTION AND AIM: Consumption of tobacco in the form of hookah has recently increased especially among young people. This study aims to develop a scale which would be used in order to detect the perception about the effects of hookah smoking on health and to test its validity and reliability. Our scale named "The Scale of Perception About The Effects of Hookah Smoking on Health" is developed in order to detect the factors effecting the perception of adolescents about the effects of hookah smoking on health. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Having methodological and analytical features, the study was performed between the dates of April 1 – May 10, 2014 in four high schools and a vocational training center that had similar socio-economic levels. The sample of the study consisted of 150 voluntary students in scale development and 750 voluntary students in study group. The data was collected via a questionnaire prepared by researchers themselves and 5-pont Likert scale "The Scale of Perception About The Effects of Hookah Smoking on Health" which was prepared through the literature. Data evaluation was carried out on computer by SPSS. The reliability of the scale was detected by test-retest, item-total score correlation and internal consistency analysis. In the evaluation of other data, mean percentage, independent sample t test and ANOVA were used. FINDINGS: The findings of the study showed that "The Scale of Perception About The Effects of Hookah Smoking on Health" was a valid and a reliable one. Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the of the scale fort he study group was 0,93. Total score average of the adolescents participated in the study was 58,47±1,25. This revealed that perception of high school students on the effects of hookah smoking on health was quite high. The mean score of the ones who did not smoke hookah (60,10±11,68) was higher than the mean score of the ones who smoked hookah (51,62±13,77). The difference between them was found out to be statistically significant. RESULT: It is established that "The Scale of Perception About The Effects of Hookah Smoking on Health" was a reliable and valid measurement tool. It is also found out that the ones who smoked hookah had a lower level of perception of hookah smoking effects on health than the ones who did not smoke hookah.
