dc.description.abstract Conclusion: Ankylosing spondylitis patients are at risk for developing osteoporosis. In advanced disease, the lumbar BMD is misleadingly high because of paravertebral calcification and ossification. Therefore, it is more rational to evaluate the BMD at the femoral neck.
