dc.description.abstract We have calculated the electric dipole transition parameters (wavelengths, weighted oscillator strengths, and transition probabilities) for some excited levels in neutral ytterbium (Yb I, Z = 70) by using two configuration interaction methods (the multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock (MCHF) method within the framework of Breit-Pauli relativistic corrections developed by Fischer and Cowan's relativistic Hartree-Fock (HFR) method). Results obtained have been compared with other calculations and experiments.
