dc.description.abstract In this study, nano-scaled silica was prepared by hydrolysis and condensation reactions of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) in presence of cyclohexylamine (CHA) as catalyst. Surface treatment of the nano-particles was carried out with a silane coupling agent. Particle size distribution and surface area of the nano sized particles were measured by Zetasizer Nano ZS, SEM was used to characterize the surface. Rubber compounds were prepared with the nano-scaled silicas as both surface treated and non-treated, dispersion of nano silicas in compounds were characterized with SEM and tensile properties were measured. rubber (SBR).
