Duygusal zekânın hasta merkezli bakım algısına etkisi: Hasta perspektifinden bir araştırma = The effect of emotional intelligence on the perception of patient-centered care: A study from a patient's perspective

Abstract

Son yıllarda sağlık sektöründe yaşanan değişim ile hekim merkezli yaklaşımdan hasta merkezli yaklaşıma geçilmektedir. Odağında insan olan sağlık sektöründe hastaların tanı, tedavi, klinik işlemler ve bakım sürecine dâhil edilmesi önem arz etmektedir. Hasta ve hekimin ortak karar alması sonucunda hasta memnuniyetine olumlu katkı sağlayacağı, sağlık hizmeti alımındaki maliyet ve eşitsizlikleri azaltacağı, bakım kalitesi arttırılarak sağlığın gelişimine katkı sağlanacağı öngörülmektedir. Bu faydalara duygusal zekâya sahip bireyler ile erişilebileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu çıkış noktası ile çalışmanın amacı, duygusal zekâ düzeyinin hasta merkezli bakım algısına etkisini belirlemektir. Çalışma üç ana bölümden oluşacaktır. Birinci bölümde hasta merkezli bakım kavramı ile bu kavramların tarihsel gelişimine değinilecektir. İkinci bölümde duygusal zekâ kavramı ve sessizlik kavramı açıklanacaktır. Üçüncü bölümde ise çalışmanın metodoloji kısmına yer verilecektir. Araştırma belirlenen il sınırları içerisinde bulunan 18 yaş üstü bireylerde anket uygulanarak yürütülecektir. Araştırma verileri Hasta Merkezli Bakım Ölçeği, Rotterdam Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği ve sosyo-demografik soru formu ile toplanacaktır. Çalışmanın sonuç bölümünde ise araştırma ile ilgili sonuç ve önerilere yer verilecektir. Araştırmanın tamamlanması ile duygusal zekâ düzeyinin hasta merkezli bakım algısına etkisinin olup olmadığının ortaya konması ve katılımcıların duygusal zekâ ve hasta merkezli bakım algısı düzeylerinin belirlenmesi hedeflenmektedir.

With the change in the health sector in recent years, there is a transition from a physician-centered approach to a patient-centered approach. In the health sector, which focuses on people, it is important to include patients in the diagnosis, treatment, clinical procedures and care processes. It is envisaged that, as a result of joint decision-making between the patient and the physician, it will contribute positively to patient satisfaction, reduce the costs and inequalities in healthcare services, and contribute to the development of health by increasing the quality of care. It is thought that these benefits can be achieved by individuals with emotional intelligence. With this starting point, the aim of the study is to determine the effect of the level of emotional intelligence on the perception of patient-centered care. The study will consist of three main parts. In the first part, the concept of patient-centered care and the historical development of these concepts will be discussed. In the second part, the concept of emotional intelligence and the concept of silence will be explained. In the third chapter, the methodology part of the study will be included. The research will be conducted by applying a survey to individuals over the age of 18 within the determined provincial borders. Research data will be collected with the Patient-Centered Care Scale, Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale and socio-demographic questionnaire. In the conclusion section of the study, results and suggestions regarding the research will be included. Upon completion of the research, it is aimed to reveal whether the level of emotional intelligence has an effect on the perception of patient-centered care and to determine the emotional intelligence and patient-centered care perception levels of the participants.
