Abstract:
BaTiO3/cement pyroelectric composite was fabricated and it was also explored for pyrocatalysis dye degradation at room temperature. The BaTiO3/cement was electrically poled and piezoelectric coefficient was found to be +/- 20 pC/N. Poled BaTiO3/cement composite can effectively decompose Rhodanmine B dye with a degradation efficiency of 60% by harvesting 6-40 C-degrees cold-hot alternation energy. These results along with the high stability displayed by the composites indicate a new approach for development of functional cements for environmental remediation.
