Ödül, işgörene karşılık verilen yararların ve nazların tümünü anlatan bir kavramdır. Olumlu sonuçlar (ödüller ve teşvikler), çalışan davranışı üzerinde çok önemli olduğu için, ödül sistemleri çalışanın performansı ve örgütsel basarı için büyük önem taşır. Ödül sistemi, organizasyonun üyelerine erişilebilir kıldığı tüm yarar ve kazanç paketini içine alır ve bu kazanç ve yararların dağıtımını içeren mekanizma ve prosedürler bunun içindedir. Bu anlamda bir ödül iki unsurdan oluşur; sağlanan bir şey karşılığında elde edilen bir şey. Bir organizasyon içinde ödül grupları, organizasyonel performansı etkileyen bireysel davranışların temel bir belirleyicisidir. İş konusunda motivasyon ele alınırsa, merkezi bir konu olarak örgütler tarafından, örgüt içinde kullanılan ödül sistemleri akla gelir. Organizasyonlar ödül sistemleri ile motivasyon ve öğrenme prensiplerini devreye sokarlar ve bu prensipleri uygulamaya girişirler. Örgüt üyelerinin davranışlarının yönlendirilmesi kavramı, farklı yaklaşımlarda farklı şekillerde yorumlanmaktadır. Motivasyon Teorileri, davranışların nedenini insanların zihinsel süreçlerine ve ihtiyaçlarına dayandırırlar ve davranışların yapılan işten ve bulunulan ortamdan nasıl etkilendiklerini açıklamaya çalışırlar. Öte yandan, Davranışçı yaklaşımlar davranışı açıklamada içsel ihtiyaçlar ve zihinsel süreçlerle ilgili varsayımlarda bulunmazlar. Davranışçı yaklaşımlar, motivasyon kavramını bile kullanmazlar, onun yerine davranışı iş ortamı içerisinde, sonuçlarına göre açıklarlar. Bu tezde, Motivasyon Tcorilcrindeki ödüllendirme sistemleri tartışılmış ve organizasyon (ardaki ödül sistemlerinin önemi ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışma iki temel hipotez üzerine oturtulmuştur. Bunlardan ilki; Ho: organizasyonlarda uygulanan ödül grupları, organizasyonun performansını etkileyen bireysel davranışların temel bir belirleyicisidir, ikincisi ise; Ho: bir organizasyon içinde farklı çalışanların farklı ödül tercihleri vardır. Hipotezleri test etmek amacıylada, bir sanayi işletmesinde çalışanların ödül tercihlerinin incelenmesi üzerine bir vaka araştırması yapılmıştır. Bu vaka araştırmasının sonuçlarında işletme içindeki farklı özelliklerdeki çalışanların ödül tercihleri arasında farklılıklar olduğu saptanmıştır. İşletmelerde ödül sistemleri oluşturulurken mutlaka, çalışanların alt gruplara göre ödül tercihleri incelenmeli ve sistem bu doğrultuda elde edilen verilere dayandırılmalıdır.

In that way, a reward appears from two factors; a thing that reached by a clear work encured. Reward groups in an organization are the basic instruments of the personal attitudes that affects the organizational performance. If we work on motivation in business, by the organizations as a central view, we remember reward systems, motivation and learning principals and they practise this theorise.The concept of canalising the behaviours of the organization's members, is commented differently in different approachs. Motivation Theories base the reason of the behaviours on the needs and memorial periods of people and explain the behaviours that how they are affected from the work done and the living environment.in another way, Behavioral Approachs do not claim theories about internal needs and memorial periods in order to explain behaviour. These Behavioral Approachs do not use the motivation concept either, they explain the behaviour inside the work environment according to their results instead of it. In this tliesis, reward systems in the motivation theories have been discussed and their importance for the organizations has been evaluated. This study is based on two basic hypothesis; the first one is: Ho: the reward groups used in organizations are the principal reason of die personal attitudes tiiat affecting the organizational performance, the second one is, Ho: the staff whose work is different according to their degree have different reward preferences. In order to test the hypothesis, a scene research about reward preferences of the staff have been made in an industrial firm. The differences have been appeared about die reward preferences between different staff degrees in a firm at the result of tiiis scene research. When the reward systems are formed in a firm, reward preferences of die staff from die bottom to die top should be examined absolutely and so the system should be based on the data study reached in this way.
