Sad sûresi, Mekke'de inen diğer sûreler gibi i'tikatla ilgili konulan ele alır. Sûrenin başında Kur'an'a yemin edilmiş, böylece Kur'an'ın değeri gösterilmiştir. Daha sonra kâfirlerin tevhid, nübüvvet ve âhiretle ilgili itirazlarına ve bunların cevaplarına yer verilmiştir. Kâfirlere göre Hz. Peygamber (sav) bir sihirbaz ve yalanadır, onun Allah tarafından elçi seçilmesi için hiçbir üstünlüğü yoktur. Ayrıca tek bir ilâhın olduğunu ve insanların öldükten sonra dirileceğini iddia etmesi hayret edilecek birşeydir. Bu itirazlara karşılık olarak Allah'ın dilediğini peygamber seçtiği, her konuda olduğu gibi bu konuda da başka hiç kimsenin yetkisi olmadığı belirtilmiş ve peygamberleri yalanladığı için helak edilen toplumlar zikredilerek inkarcılıktan sakındırılmıştır. Sûre, daha sonra Mekkelileri gurur ve muhalefetten caydırmak, Hz. Peygamber (sav) ile onun ashabına teselli vermek ve onlara sabır telkin etmek için Hz. Dâvud, Hz. Süleyman ve Hz. Eyyûb'un kıssalarıyla devam etmekte ve bu arada Hz. İbrahim, Hz. İshak, Hz. Ya'kub, Hz. İsmail, Hz. Elyesa' ve Hz. Zü'1-kifl de anılmakta ve Allah'ın azabından sakınanların girecekleri cennetlerin tasviri yapılmaktadır. Kâfirler, çeşit çeşit işkenceler görecekleri cehenneme girip çok kötü bir akıbete uğramamak için Hz. Peygamber (sav)'e inanmalı, kibirlenmeyi ve onu kıskanmayı bırakmalıdırlar. Çünkü bu İblis'in yoludur. İblis de kibirlendiği ve Hz. Âdem'i kıskandığı için Allah'ın emrine karşı gelmiş ve sonuçta kafirlerden olmuştu. Sûrenin sonunda Hz. Peygamber (sav)'in yaptığı işe karşılık ücret istememesine dikkat çekilerek onun davasının haklılığı bir daha vurgalanmış ve bu hakikatin bir süre sonra herkes tarafından bilineceği belirtilmiştir.
Sürat Sâd, like the other sûrahs which are sent down in Makka, deal with the topics relating to the firm belief in God. At the beginning of the Sûra, it is sworn to Qur'an so that, its value is demonstrated. Then the disbelievers' objections to the Oneness of Allah, Prophethood and the Hereafter, and the answers to these objections are clearly expressed. According to the disbelievers, Prophet Muhammad is a sorcerer and a liar, and there is no his superiority over the other people in order to be chosen as a prophet by God. Furthermore his arguments of the Oneness of God and the Next World are very curious things. The contrary to these objections, it is expressed that Allah chooses vhom he wills as a prophet, like every case there is also no authority in this case, and the people is kept away from the disbelief by mentioning the perished societies because of their denial of the prophets. The Surah, later on, continues with the stories of David, Solomon, Job in order to dissuade the Makkan people from pride and opposition, to give a consolation to the Prophet Muhammad and his friends, and to recommende them patience, and meanwhile Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ishmael, Eksha, Isaiah are also mentioned. The Paradise and the Hell are described in order to encourage the people to believe and to keep away from the disbelief and then this message is given to disbelievers by telling the story of Satan: There is no doubt about the prophethood of Muhammad. Because of this, the disbelievers should give up to assume a haughty air and to be jealous of him, then they must believe him at once. Because pride and jealousy are the way of Satan. Satan also challenged and denied Allah's order due to its pride and being jealous of Adam and finally, it became one from the disbelievers. At the end of Surah, his message of rightfulness is emphasized once more by focusing on the fact that the Prophet Muhammad had never demanded any fee in return for work carried out by himself, and it is expressed that this truth will be known by everyone soon afterwards.
