Bu araştırma, 1998 yılında 2484 sayılı Tebliğler Dergisinde yayınlanarak uygulamaya giren Hayat Bilgisi Ders Programı'nın bir değerlendirmesini içermektedir. Birey ilk öğrenmelerini ailede gerçekleştirmektedir. Bu dönemde kazanılan bilgilerin birçoğu düzensiz ve kasıtsız olarak kazanılmaktadır. Öğrencilerin hayatla ilgili formal bilgileri aldığı ilk temel ders hayat bilgisi, dersidir. Öğrencilerin okula ve okul disiplinine alıştırıldıktan ilk temel ders olan hayat bilgisi dersinin önemi sadece ilk formal ders olması ile sınırlı değildir. İlk formal ders olması nedeni ile hayat bilgisi dersinde bulunması gereken en önemli niteliklerden ikisi şunlardır. Birincisi; hayat bilgisi dersi öğrenciyi öğrenmenin kolay ve zevkli bir iş olduğuna inandırarak öğrenmeye motive etmelidir. İkincisi ise; hayat bilgisi dersleri öğrencinin okulu, okul disiplinini, arkadaşlarım, okul-aile ve okul-yaşam ilişkilerini tanımasını, benimsemesini ve sevmesini sağlayabilmelidir. Oysa uygulamaya bakıldığında hayat bilgisi dersleri ağırlıklı olarak sınıf içinde ve genellikle kitaplar ve resimler yardımı ile işlenmeye çalışılan bir yapıya sahiptir. Aslında yapısı gereği öğrencinin günlük yaşamı ile bire bir ilişkili olan hayat bilgisi dersleri böyle bir anlayışla uygulamadan koparılarak sembollerle pratikten uzaklaştırılmıştır. Yapılan araştırmada, Hayat Bilgisi Ders Programı'nın hedefleri, içeriği, eğitim-öğretim süreçleri, araç-gereçleri ve yöntemleri ile ilgili uygulama sorunları tespit edilmiş ve bu sorunlara çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur. Önerilerden bazıları; hedefler ve içeriğin belli aralıklarla güncelleştirilmek üzere incelenmesi, derslere zaman sınırı konulmaması, ders kitapları yerine ünite fasiküllerinin oluşturulması, hayat bilgisi dersleri için labaratuvar oluşturulması, öğrenciyi merkeze alacak yöntemlerin tercih edilmesi, vb. şeklinde sıralanabilir. Bu araştırmada, iki yöntemden yararlanılmıştır. Bunlardan ilki kaynak taramasıdır. Bu yöntem ile program geliştirme ve dünyada ve bizde Hayat Bilgisi Ders Programı'nın tarihçesi hakkında bilgiler sunulmuştur. İkinci yöntem ise değerlendirme surveydir. Bu yöntemde programın uygulayıcıları olan ilköğretim okulu I. kademe öğretmenlerine bir XIanket uygulanmıştır. Anket sonuçlan SPSS programında değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin frekans ve yüzde tabloları yapılarak sonuçlar yorumlanmıştır. Yapılan yorumlar ışığında programın geliştirilmesi yönünde önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
This study is about the evaluation of Hayat Bilgisi curriculum which was accepted by the Ministry of Education after being published in Tebliğler Dergisi volume 2484 in 1998. The individual gets his/her first learning experiences at his/her family. Most of these learning experiences acquired by the individual during this period are in disorder and unintentional fashion. The first formal lesson that the individual has dequired about the life is Hayat Bilgisi (The Knowledge of Life). The importance of Hayat Bilgisi is not limited to for being first fundamental lesson in which students are accustomed to school and school discipline. Hayat Bilgisi is also the first lesson which should motivate the pupil by convincing him that learning is an easy and enjoyable activity. Secondly, Hayat Bilgisi lessons teach the student how to love, recognize and adapt school, school discipline, friends, school-family, school-life relationships. However, when it is looked at the current practices, Hayat Bilgisi lessons mostly are taught in class by using books and pictures. In fact, as its nature, Hayat Bilgisi should be taught in coordination with life. In this study, the goals, content, education-learning process, learning materials and methods of Hayat Bilgisi lessons are analyzed and problems are identified. Also some suggestions are made and solutions to these problems were presented. Some of suggestions include: to update the goals and content of Hayat Bilgisi curriculum, to abandon the restrictions time of to use learning unit fascicules instead of textbooks, to establish Hayat Bilgisi labs, and to prefer learning methods which take students as the core of instruction. In this research, two methods were made use of. First of them is source - scanning. Through this method, some knowledge about both program development and the history of Hayat Bilgisi curriculum at home and in the world was presented. Second method is the evaluation and survey. In this method, a questionnaire was carried out to the primary school first phase (Ist-5th grades) teachers who are the applicants of these methods. The xin %£.
