Şirket çalışanlarının önceden belirlenen kriterlere göre zamanında değerlendirilmesi, kişisel hedefler ile şirket hedeflerinin bütünleşmesi, kişilerin eğitim ihtiyaçlarının belirlenmesi ve kariyer planlarının yapılması, amaçlan ile Performans Değerleme Sistemi uygulanır. Bu sistem uygulanırken elde edilen geribeslemeler çalışanların performanslarının geliştirilmesinde ciddi şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Şirketlerde yöneticilerin bulunduğu konum itibariyle çalışanların performanslarını etkilemeye dönük ciddi güç bulunmaktadır. Bu sebeple çalışanlara mevcut performansları hakkında olumlu veya olumsuz tespit edip söyleyeceğimiz herşey onların gelecekteki performanslarını da etkileyeceğinden işletme için bir fırsat olarak değerlendirilmelidir. İnsanlar işletmede nasıl çalıştıkları ile ilgili açık, doğru yorumlan bilmek isterler. Çünkü kendilerini geliştirmek için bu değerlendirmelere dayanmalan gerekir. 360 derece performans değerleme yöntemi işte bu açıdan insanlara hem doğru hem de açık ve hakkaniyetli bir geri besleme sağladığından dolayı çağdaş yaklaşımlar açısından gelecekte kullanılması geçerli sistemlerden biri olacaktır. Bu tezde İnsan kaynaklan yönetiminin en önemli işlevlerinden biri olan Performans değerleme kavram olarak incelenmiş, şirket yönetiminde işgörenler açısından önemi üzerinde durulmuş, geleneksel yöntemler ile çağdaş yaklaşımlar ele alınarak üstün ve zayıf yanlan ortaya konmuştur. 360 derece performans değerlemenin mağazalar zincirinin bir şubesinde pilot olarak uygulaması yapılarak, personelin başansımn ölçülmesinde etkileri ortaya konmuştur. Kısaca performans değerleme sistemleri içerisinde çoklu geri besleme sunan 360 derece performans değerleme personelin başansı ve verimliliği hakkında daha objektif veriler sunmakta olup neticesi itibari ile de daha hakkaniyetli bir yaklaşım olduğu ortaya konulmaktadır.
Performance Assessment System is applied in order to make 'on-time' assessment of the employees in compliance with previously set criteria, to converge personal objectives with that of the company, to specify training needs and career plans. The feedback which are obtained as a result of the application of this system provides significant assistance in the direction of improving performances. Depending upon their position, managers of a company possess a potential to influence the performance of their employees. It is therefore an important opportunity for each manager to manipulate this potential into reshaping employees' future performances by way of making positive or negative comments on their current state-of-being. Employees need to know clear and true interpretations about how well they are carrying out their job. They need to rely on this how they will set the pace to improve themselves. "Performance Assessment at 360°" attains a true, clear, and fair feedback to the employees, therefore it will remain a valid system with respect of modern assessment approaches. In this thesis, "Performance Assessment", as one of the most important functions of Human Resources Administration, is under focus as an individual concept. Its vitality for the employers has been highlighted and its both advantages and disadvantages are mentioned from a perspective of traditional methods and modern approaches compared. "Performance Assessment at 360°" has been applied at one of the branches of a bookstore chain, and the outcomes have been laid down accordingly.
