Ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin benlik algısı ve umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Bu araştırmada ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin benlik algıları ile umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeli ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sakarya ili Hendek ilçesindeki üç okul türündeki liselerden 208 kız 306 erkek toplam 514 öğrenci araştırmaya katılmıştır. Öğrenciler yansız örnekleme metodu seçilmiştir. Araştırmada verilerin toplanmasında Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Offer Benlik İmgesi Ölçeği ve Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS for Windows 11.5 istatistik paket programı yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir.Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; öğrencilerin benlik algı düzeyleri ile umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasında pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmektedir. Öğrencilerin benlik algı düzeylerinin olumsuzluğu arttıkça, umutsuzluk düzeyleri de artmaktadır. Öğrencilerin benlik algısı ile umutsuzluk ölçeğinin tüm alt boyutları arasında pozitif anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin benlik algısı düzeylerine göre okul türü, sosyo-ekonomik düzey, akademik başarı düzeyi, anne-baba tutumu, annenin eğitim durumu, babanın eğitim durumu değişkenleri açısından anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin benlik algı düzeyleri ile cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, doğum sırası, seçmeyi düşündükleri meslek değişkenleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmüştür.Öğrencilerin umutsuzluk düzeylerine göre cinsiyet, okul türü, sosyo-ekonomik düzey, akademik başarı düzeyi, anne-baba tutumu değişkenleri açısından anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin sınıf düzeyi, annenin eğitim durumu, babanın eğitim durumu doğum sırası, seçmeyi düşündükleri meslek değişkenlerine göre umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmüştür. Araştırmanın bulgularına yönelik tartışma yapılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

In this research, the relations between self perception and hopelessness levels of the high school students are analysed in aspects of various variables. The research was carried out with the relational survey model. A total of 514 students from three different types of high schools in Sakarya Hendek participated in this study. Students were chosen by random sampling method. In this study, Personal Information Sheet, Offer Self Image Scale and Beck Hopelessness Scale were used for data collection. The data of this research were analysed with the statistics package program of SPSS for Windows 11.5.According to the results of research, a positive and significant relation is seen between the level of the self perception and hopelessness of the students. The level of hopelessness of students are higher while the level of self perception is more negative. A positive and significant relation were found between the self perception of students and all of the sub-scales of hopelessness scale. According to the self perception level of students, significant differences were found out in terms of parameters such as school type, social-economic standard, academical success, attitude of parents, education of mother, education of father. In terms of the self perception level of students; gender, grade level, sibling order and the selected professions no significant differenses were found.According to the level of hopelessness of students, significant differences were found in terms of gender, the school type, social-ekonomic standard, academical success and attitude of parents. The level of hopelessness of students, no significant differences were found in terms of grade level, education of mother, education of father, sibling order, the selected professions. The result of the research were discussed and some advice were given.
