Sosyolojik Açıdan Sosyal Bilimler Ders Kitapları ve Sosyalleştirme Rolleri

Abstract

Eğitim sistemi bir ülkenin kalkınmasını sağlayacak en önemli güçlerden bir tanesini meydana getirmektedir.Ülkenin kalkınmasını da eğitim kurumlarında yetişen nitelikli insanlar gerçekleştirmektedir. Sosyal bilgiler dersibir ülkenin ihtiyaç duyduğu başarılı, katılımcı, etkin, sosyal ve iyi vatandaşları yetiştirme potansiyeline sahipönemli bir derstir. Bu potansiyel ancak sosyalleştirme vasıtası ile uygulama olanağı bulabilir. Çünküsosyalleşme bireyin toplumsal ilişkilerde bulunarak, topluma katılması ve kendisini toplumun asil bir üyesiolarak hissetmesini sağlayarak ona şahsiyet ve güven duygusu vermektedir. Böylece birey sosyalleşerek toplumakazandırılabilir. İşte Sosyal bilimler disiplinlerinden seçilmiş bilgilere dayalı olarak tasarlanan sosyal bilgilerders kitapları bireyin sosyalleşmesini sağlayacak en ideal ders kitaplarını oluşturmaktadır. Bu bakımdan sosyalbilgiler ders kitapları önem arz etmektedir.Sosyolojik Açıdan Sosyal Bilgiler Ders Kitapları ve Sosyalleştirme Rolleri adlı araştırma konumuz; sosyalbilgiler ders kitaplarının bireyi sosyalleştirebilme özelliğini ortaya çıkarmak adına yapılmıştır. Bunu yaparkensosyolojik bir bakış açısı doğrultusunda eğitimin toplumsal fonksiyonlarını da göz ardı etmeyecek bir çalışmaolmasına dikkat edilmiştir. Ayrıca sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarının sosyalleştirme faaliyetinde bulunurkenfertlerde gerçekleşmesi istenen/istenmeyen davranışların neler olduğu da belirtilmiştir. Bu da bireyin toplumsalkatılım sürecinde uyması gereken toplumsal kural ve değerlerin ne olduğunu bilmesini sağlayacaktır.Konuyla ilgili olarak önce ilgili literatür taranmış ardından araştırmaya konu olan sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarıincelenmiştir. Yeni İlköğretim programına göre hazırlanmış hem Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı hem de Özel Kesime aityayınevlerinin, her sınıftan birer tane olmak üzere 4., 5., 6. ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarınınsosyalleştirme rolleri incelenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra milli eğitime ait belgeler ve ikinci derece kaynaklardan dafaydalanılmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda Sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarının sosyalleştirme rolünün olduğu tespit edilmiş olup, sosyalbilgiler ders kitaplarının sosyalleştirme rolleri başarılı bulunmuştur. Ayrıca sosyal bilgiler ders kitapları,bireylerin sosyal ve kültürel bir şahsiyet sahibi olmalarını da sağlamaktadır. Birey sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarısayesinde sosyalleşip topluma uyum sağlayabilmektedir. Böylece sosyal bilgiler sayesinde etkin, sosyal ve iyivatandaşlar yetişerek toplumun ve ülkenin kalkınması gerçekleştirilebilmektedir.

The education system is one of the key factors in the development of a country. The development of a certaincountry is dependent on the number and quality of its educated people. Similarly a social science is a coursethat helps to educate citizens of the country to become successful, active, social and good. This opportunity canrealize only through socialization of the individuals. Socialization is a process that makes individuals to feel asa primary member of his society and to get confidence through his contributions to the community. Throughthis process the individual becomes a part of society. The textbooks of social sciences, therefore, have animportant role in this process.Our research topic titles as ?The Role of Social Sciences Textbooks in Socialization through SociologicalPerspectives?, examines the impact of the textbooks in this field on socialization. This study at the same timepays attention to the social aspects of education in a sociological approach. It also focuses on thewanted/unwanted reactions of the student during the process of socialization. This will help the individuals toknow the rules that they should follow while they socialize.During the research project, first the related literature was searched, and then the textbooks of the field wereexamined. All books, written according to the new curriculum for grades 4 to 7 that are published by theMinistry of Education and by the private publishers were checked for their role in socialization. Theeducational documents and secondary literature were also used and benefited.At the end of our research, we concluded that there was indeed a role of the Social sciences textbooks insocialization, and they were successful in applying their role. They also contribute to the development of thecultural identity of the individuals. The individuals are quite socialized by studying those books. By educatingstudents, social sciences contribute to the development of society and its country.
