Abstract

Çeviri eleştirisi çeviri biliminin önemli bir koludur. Onun Görevi, çeviri metnini, kendibütünlüğü içerisinde, kalitesi açısından, olabildiğince objektif değerlendirmek. Çeviri eleştirisi,çeviri bilimi için vazgeçilmezdir. Onu bu kadar önemli kılan nedir? Bu soruyu çalışmamınhazırlık aşamasında kendime sordum.Çeviri eleştirisinin, teorisi ve uygulaması konusunda, birçok yaklaşım var. Ama her seferindecevapsız kalan bazı sorular oluşuyor. Çeviri bilim teorilerinin derinlerine inildiğinde, çevirieleştirisinin erek odaklı olması gerektiği kanaatine varılır. Çünkü çeviri eleştirisi, çeviri bilimteorilerinden bağımsız yapılamaz.Bu çalışmanın amacı, fikrimce, tam anlamıyla cevabını bulamamış bazı sorularıcevaplandırmaktır. Bu konudaki çıkış noktam, çeviri eleştirisinin çevirmeni ve çeviri sürecinihangi ölçüde etkilediğidir.Eğer çeviri eleştirisinin erek metnin bir değerlendirmesi ve dolayısıyla çevirmenin kararlarınıanaliz etmek olduğunu kabul ediyorsak, aynı kaynak metni ele alan çevirmenlerin kararlarınında farklı olduğu ve her seferinde değişik çeviri sonuçları ortaya koyulduğu gerçeği konusunavarırız. Bu durum aynı şekilde çeviri eleştirmeni için de geçerlidir. Çeşitli eleştirmenler aynıerek metni farklı değerlendirebilir. O halde, bu bağlamda, eleştiri, çevirmeni etkilemeli mi?Çeviri eleştirisi hangi ölçüde çeviri bilime etki edebilir?Bu çalışmada, çeşitli kaynaklardan yararlanarak, eleştiri ve çeviri eleştirisinin teori ve metotlarıele alındı. Bununla birlikte eleştirmen, çevirmen ve çeviri eleştirmeni kimlikleri ve görevleri,ayrıca, yeni yaklaşımlar ortaya koyuldu.Çalışmada, çeviri eleştirisinin erek odaklı olması gerektiği sonucuna varıldı. Çeviri eleştirisi,çeviri bilimine çeviri problemleri konusunda bilgi verir ve bu sebeple çeviri biliminin gelişimiiçin büyük önem taşımaktadır. Çeviri eleştirisi çevirmen için yol gösterici konumda olmalıdır.Aynı zamanda çeviri eylemini çeviri teorilerine paralel olarak analiz etmelidir. The criticism of translation is one of the important part of the science of translation. Its functionis to evaluate the text of translation as a whole as possible as objective. The criticism oftranslation is necessary for the science of translation. Why is it so important? I asked thisquestion to myself during the preparations of my study.Although there are different ideas about the theory and its application of the criticism oftranslation, some questions are not answered already. If one thoroughly researches the theoriesof the science of translation he/she concluded that it must be objective. Because the criticism oftranslation could not fulfil without the theories of the science of translation.The purpose of this study is to answer some questions which are not answered fully. Mystarting point on this subject is how much the criticism of translation affects the translator andprocess of translation.If we accept that the criticism of translation is to be an evaluation of the object text and toanalysis the decisions of the translator we understand that the decisions of the translators aboutthe same text are different and every time different translations are performed. This situation isalso valid for the criticism of translation. Various critics may evaluate the same object text in adifferent way. Then in this situation does the criticism affect the translator? How much thecriticism of translation may affect the science of translation?During this study, I benefited from many sources and studied on the theory and the methods ofcritic and the criticism of translation. At the same time, the identities and duties of the critics,translators and the criticism of translation are studied. In addition new approaches are revealed.During this study I came to a conclusion that the criticism of translation must be objective. Thecriticism of translation gives information about the problems of translation to the science oftranslation and therefore it is very important for the development of science translation. Thecriticism of translation must be a guide for translator and at the same time it must analyse thetranslation as parallel to the translation theories.
