Profesyonel turist rehberleri bakış açısıyla turizm rehberliği eğitim müfredatlarının uygulama yeterliliği

Abstract

Tüm dünyada gün geçtikçe gelişen teknoloji, ekonomi, sosyal ve kültürel kalkınmışlık gibi etkiler doğrultusunda turizm endüstrisinin de gelişme göstermekte olduğu bilinen bir gerçektir. Bu gelişmelerle birlikte turizmin önemi her geçen gün artmaktadır. Bugün gelişmelerine önem veren ülkeler, turizme yönelmiş ve küresel rekabet ortamı oluşmuştur. Artan rekabet koşullarında öne çıkabilmek adına hizmet kalitesini arttırmak da kaçınılmaz hale gelmiştir. Emek sermayesinin yoğun olarak kullanıldığı turizm endüstrisinde hizmet kalitesinin arttırılması ise kalifiye işgörenler ile mümkün olabilmektedir. Bir destinasyonu ziyaret eden turistlerin ilk karşılaştıkları, ilk izlenim edindikleri, en fazla vakit geçirdikleri, destinasyon hakkında bilgi aldıkları, yardımlaştıkları, konuştukları, kimi zaman sorunlarını paylaştıkları bireyler olarak profesyonel turist rehberleri turistlere hizmet sunan kişilerin başında gelmektedir. Turist rehberlerin iyi bir eğitim almış olması, mesleğini sevmesi, kendini geliştirmiş ve mesleğinde ehil olması turistlere daha iyi hizmet sunmasını kolaylaştıracaktır. Bu bağlamda profesyonel turist rehberlerinin eğitimi üzerine durulması gerekmektedir. Zira işinin ehli bir rehber eşlik ettikleri misafirleri son derece memnun bir şekilde uğurlarken, henüz tam olarak yetişememiş, mesleğinde nispeten başarısız bir rehberin hataları, çok daha olumsuz yansımalara sebep olabilir. Bir profesyonel turist rehberinin mesleğine tam olarak hazır olabilmesi için teorik eğitimin yanında, pratik eğitime de ihtiyaç duymaktadır. Türkiye'de profesyonel turist rehberliği eğitimi Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı denetiminde açılan kurslar ve üniversitelerde lisans ve önlisans düzeyinde verilen eğitim ile sağlanmaktadır. Bu kurumların müfredatları farklılıklar göstermekle birlikte uygulama imkânları da değişebilmektedir. Araştırmanın ana amacı turist rehberlerinin bakış açısı ile Türkiye'deki turist rehberliği eğitiminin mesleğin uygulanması konusunda yeterli olup olmadığının ortaya konmasıdır. Araştırma amacına bağlı olarak, rehberlerden derinlemesine bilgi alabilmek adına bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yönteminden görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Görüşmeler aktif çalışan 28 rehber ve 12 oda başkanı ile gerçekleşmiştir. Araştırmamız neticesinde profesyonel turist rehberlerinin yetiştirilmesinde eğitim kurumlarının hayati bir yeri olduğu, ancak mesleği icra edebilmek adına teorik eğitimin yetersiz kaldığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu nedenle araştırma sonuçları diğer turizm alanlarında olduğu gibi rehberlik alanında da uygulamaya yönelmenin önemini bir kez daha ortaya koymaktadır. It is well known that tourism industry makes progress day by day around the world in parallel to the effects of social and cultural development, growing economy and technology. With these developments, the importance of tourism is increasing every day. Today, the countries which give importance to their progress have turned towards to tourism and thus global competition has occurred. In order to become prominent in the increasingly competitive environment, improving the service quality has become inevitable. In tourism industry that labor capital is heavily used, improving the service quality is possible with qualified employees. As the person with whom tourists come across first, get the first impression, spend time, gain information about destinations, help each other, speak with and sometimes share problems, professional tourist guides are the leading among the people who provide service to tourists. Tourist guides' receive a good education, love the profession, improve oneself, be competent in the profession, will make it easier to offer better services to tourists. In this context, it is necessary to urge upon the training of professional tourist guides. Inasmuch as, while a tourist guide who is master of his domain says goodbye to his guests in a way that they were extremely satisfied with, a guide's fails who is relatively unsuccessful in his profession and who is not yet fully developed can cause much more negative reflection. In order to a tourist guide be fully ready for his job it requires practical training besides theoretical training. In Turkey, professional tourist guide's education has provided by the courses under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and by university education in the graduate and undergraduate level. While the curriculum of these institutes differs from each other also their practice opportunities may change. The main purpose of this study is to reveal whether professional tourist guides education is adequate for practice from guides' viewpoint. Depending on the research objectives, in order to get in-depth knowledge of tourist guides, interview technique which is one of qualitative research methods used in this study. Interviews were conducted with the 12 head of professional chamber and with 28 active working guides. According to the research results, education institutes have vital importance in training professional tourist guides but have concluded that profession in order to be able to perform theoretical training is inadequate. However, the survey results once again demonstrate the importance of addressing application guidance as well as in other tourism areas.
