Anna Seghers’in eserlerinde toplumsal sorunlara bakış

Abstract

20. yüzyılın ilk yarısında meydana gelen iki büyük savaş hiç şüphesiz, insan belleğinde ve ruhunda büyük yaralar açmış ve tarihin en önemli olayları arasına adını yazdırmıştır. Sayısız insanın hayatına mal olan, hayatta kalanları ise zorlu yaşam mücadelesine terk eden savaş, ardında sosyolojik, ekolojik, ekonomik ve psikolojik açıdan derin yaralar bırakmıştır. Gerek tarihçiler, gerekse edebiyatçılar açısından derin bir çalışma alanı oluşturan bu dönem, birçok yazar tarafından ele alınarak sebep ve sonuçları açısından değerlendirilmiş ve insanlar üzerindeki tesiri ortaya konmuştur. Her iki dünya savaşına tanıklık eden yazar Anna Seghers, yaşadığı çağın korkunç gerçeğine karşı sessiz kalmayarak, savaşın meydana getirdiği her türlü yıkımı ve vahşeti, eserleri aracılığı ile yansıtmaya çalışmıştır. Hem politik hem de sanatçı yönüyle toplumsal olaylara eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla yaklaşmıştır. Anna Seghers'in Ölüler Genç Kalır, Transit, Yedinci Şafak ve İlk Adımlar eserleri, bu dönem içerisinde meydana gelen toplumsal olayları oldukça gerçekçi bir şekilde ele alarak, savaşın insan hayatına nasıl nüfuz ettiğini açıkça gözler önüne sermektedir. Buradan hareketle bu çalışmada, savaştan kaçan insanların gittikleri yerlerde karşılaştığı mültecilik, yabancılaşma ve yalnızlık sorunları, savaşın insan hayatı üzerindeki tahribatı, ölümle burun buruna bir yaşamın meydana getirdiği psikolojik ve ruhsal yankıları, savaşın gölgesine gizlenen faşizmin etkileri, yaşanan ekonomik buhranlar, savaşı besleyen düşünceler, ırkçılık, ayrımcılık ve sömürgecilik anlayışları bu eserler çerçevesinde ele alınarak tek tek irdelenmiştir. Aynı zamanda savaşın ve faşizmin aktörü olan nasyonal sosyalizm ve Hitler'in başbakan oluşu ile başlayan sürgün edebiyatı da yazarın hayatı ve dönemle bizzat bağlantılı olduğundan bu çalışmada ele alınmıştır. Savaşın hüküm sürdüğü her yerde ne yazık ki benzer sorunları görmeye devam ediyoruz. Bu nedenle hala güncelliğini koruyan bu sorunlar birçok savaş mağduru toplumu ortak bir paydada buluşturuyor. Sonuç olarak, hiçbir nedenin bir insanın ölümünü maruz kılamayacağı gerçeğinden hareketle, bütün bu sorunları tespit ederek, savaşın meydana getirdiği toplumsal sorunları,Anna Seghers'in eserleri ışığında ortaya koymak çalışmadaki esas amaçtır. The two major wars that took place in the first half of the 20th century undoubtedly deeply scarred human both memory and soul, and were entered among the most important events in history. The war that cost countless human lives, and that abandoned those who had survived to the hard struggle for survival has left behind deep wounds – sociologically, ecologically, economically and psychologically. This period that created a deep field of study in terms of both historians and literary critics has been approached by many writers, and thus evaluated in terms of its causes and effects. Moreover, its effect on people has been revealed. Anna Seghers, who witnessed both World Wars, didn't keep silent on the horrible truth of the century she has been living, and tried to reflect all kinds of destruction and atrocities by means of her works. She approached societal issues with a critical sight with both her politician and her artist's aspect. Anna Seghers' works "The Dead Stay Young", "Transit Visa", "The Seventh Cross", and "The First Step", respectively, approach those societal events that occurred during this period in a considerably realistic manner, and clearly display how the war penetrated human life. Starting from this point, in this study, the a.m. works are discussed and carefully studied one by one, as to the problems those people, who fled from the war, were confronted with at those places where they went, problems such as refugeeism, alienation and solitude, as to the disintegration of war on human life, the psychological and mental reactions brought about by a life that was very close to death, the effects of fascism hidden in the shadow of war, the undergone economic crises, the thoughts that fed the war, racism and discrimination as well as to a colonialist mentality, all these included within the scope of the a.m. works. At the same time, National Socialism, protagonist of both war and fascism, and also exile literature that started with Hitler becoming Reich Chancellor have been approached in this study since they are directly connected to the writer's life and the related period. We regrettably continue to see similar issues everywhere where war is. Therefore, these issues that still keep their actuality make many societies affected by war join in a common denominator. As a result, based on the reality that no reason whatsoever can subject the death of a human being, the principal purpose of this study is to determine all these issues by means of revealing the societal issues originated by the war, in the light of Anna Seghers' works.
