Uwe Johnson’un “Zwei Ansichten” romanı örneği ile Alman edebiyatında iki Almanya gerçeği

Abstract

Alman tarihinde ülkenin kaderinin bir anda değiştiği, tek bir ülke iken iki ülke olarak 1949 yılından 1989 yılına kadar devam eden süreç ele alınmıştır. Ülkenin bölünmesinde dönüm noktası olan 1961 yılında inşa edilen Berlin Duvarının toplumsal açıdan etkilerinden bahsedilmiştir. İnsanlar kendilerini her zaman yaşadıkları evlerinde, dolaştıkları sokaklarında, yani vatanlarında hapis durumunda hissetmektedirler. Sevgililer, kardeşler, arkadaşlar, akrabalar arasında artık kocaman bir duvar vardır. İnsanlar bu duvarın yıkılma ihtimalinin bile olmadığını düşünerek birleşmek için türlü yollar denerken bu uğurdu ölenlerin sayısı hiç de az değildir. Ülke böyle bir tarihi değişim yaşarken edebiyatta elbette bundan etkilenmiş ve iki Alman edebiyatı ortaya çıkmıştır. Dönemin yazarları bir yandan politik eleştiriler yaparken bir yandan da kimi yazarlar devletin isteği üzerine onların politikasını destekleyen eserler vermişlerdir. Uwe Johnson böyle bir dönemde Doğu Almanya'da iken 1959 yılında Batı Almanya'ya kaçmış, oradan da önce İngiltere'ye sonra New York'a yerleşmiştir. Bu yüzden Uwe Johnson için ne Doğu ne de Batı Almanya yazarı değil her iki ülkenin yazarı ifadesi daha doğrudur. Çalışmamızda yazarın 1965 yılında yayınladığı Zwei Ansichten adlı eseri Alman edebiyatında iki Almanya gerçeğini anlatan eserlerinden bir örnek olarak incelenmiştir. Yazar içinde bulunduğu dönemi iyi gözlemlemiş ve incelediğimiz bu romanında iki farklı açı olarak Doğu ve Batı Almanya'daki yaşamdan ipuçları vermiştir. Çalışmamızda romanda geçen karakterlerden, mekânlardan ve yaşantılarından sunulan kesitlerle, sosyolojik ve tarihsel gerçekliğe ışık tutmaya çalışacağız. Romanın ana karakterlerinden Bay B.nin Batı Almanya'yı, Bayan D.nin ise Doğu Almanya'yı temsil etmesiyle iki Almanya olgusu romanın ana konusudur. The process of two Germanies continued from 1949 until 1989 in German history, where Germany was divided into two different states while it was one and suddenly the fate of the country changed. The turning point in the division of the state was the construction of the Berlin Wall and its sociological effect on the people. People at that time felt deeply the stress of staying in their houses, walking on the street and living in their homeland as if in prison. Now rises a giant wall between lovers, brothers and sisters, friends and relatives and parents. People strive to find ways to reunify thinking of the impossibility of the Wall's tear-down while so many died for this purpose. While the country was passing through such a change, the literature was not less effected by the process and so came out two German literatures. Most authors of the period were politically criticizing the states while some others were producing literary works supporting two Germanies upon the request of the state. Uwe Johnson was one of those authors in that period. He fled to West Germany in 1959 while living in the East and then to England and finally to New York. Therefore, it would be more suitable to state that Uwe Johnson was the author of neither East Germany nor the West but both. In the present study, the author's work "Zwei Ansichten" published in 1965 in German literature was studied as a literary work that shed light on two Germanies reality. The author observed the period from two different perspectives and gave clues of life in the East and West Germany. We will shed light on the sociological and historical reality by giving examples of characters, localities and livings in the novel. Mr B. representing West Germany and Ms D. representing the East Germany were the protagonists of the novel and the phenomenon of two Germanies.
