Baudrillard’ın teknoloji eleştirisi

Abstract

Günümüz dünyası yaşamımızın her anında teknoloji ile iç içe olduğumuz ve onun sunmuş olduğu imkânlardan faydalandığımız bir dünyadır. Teknoloji ile olan ilişkimiz gündelik yaşantımızı etkilerken bununla birlikte toplumsal yaşama pratiklerimizi de değiştirebilmektedir. Teknolojiyi insani eylemlerden soyutlayarak düşünmenin imkânsız olduğu çağımızda, onun sunmuş olduğu imkânlar ve toplumsal yaşamdaki etkileri üzerine düşünmek gerekir. Bu çalışma, teknolojik dünyayı kendine özgü kavramlarla çözümleme yoluna giden Fransız düşünür Jean Baudrillard'ı merkeze alarak, ortaya koymuş olduğu "Simülasyon Kuramı" çerçevesinde teknoloji üzerinde yapmış olduğu kritiği ortaya koymaktadır. Aynı zamanda düşünürün teknoloji ile birlikte gelen simülasyon çağında gerçekliğin yok oluşuna ilişkin iddiaları dikkate alınarak, bu yok oluş sürecinde toplumsal ve kültürel alandaki dönüşümler, bu dönüşümlere sebep olan teknolojik unsurlar ve bu anlamda teknolojinin yok edici doğası sorgulanmaktadır. Baudrillard düşüncesinde üzerinde önemle durulan konu, teknolojik süreçlerle sanallığın hakim olduğu bir evrende gerçekleşen simülasyon oyunlarının gerçekliği yok edici gücüdür. Baudrillard, "simülasyon", "simülakr", "gerçeklik", "hiper-gerçeklik" gibi kavramlardan yola çıkarak, ileri teknolojilerin sunmuş olduğu imkânların toplum ve kültür üzerindeki olumsuz yansımalarını ortaya koyma gayretindedir. Teknoloji çağının karakterini yansıtan önemli unsurlardan biri de tüketim olgusudur. Teknolojinin her geçen gün gelişerek hayatımıza nüfus etmesi sosyal davranış kalıplarımızı değiştirirken, tüketim olgusunu da önemli bir yere taşımaktadır. Bu anlamda çalışmamızda Baudrillard'ın görüşleri doğrultusunda tüketim kültürü üzerinde de durulmuştur. Bununla ilişkili olarak medya kollarının gerçeklik algısı üzerindeki etkileri, günümüz dünyasında kitle iletişim araçlarının toplumsal hayatta ne tür fonksiyonlara sahip olduğu ve çağın karakterini yansıtan tüketim olgusunun medya kollarıyla olan ilişkisi de çalışmamızın konusu kapsamındadır.

Today's world is one in which we are intertwined with technology at every moment of our lives and benefit from the opportunities that it offers. Our relationship with technology affects our daily life, and can also change our practices in social life. In our age, in which it is impossible to think about technology in isolation from human actions, it is necessary to think about the opportunities it provides and its effects on social life. This study deals with Jean Baudrillard, the French philosopher, who attempts to analyse and criticise the technological world with his idiosyncratic concepts and bases his criticism of technology on his 'Simulation Theory'. In addition, considering Baudrillard's claims about the disappearance of reality in the age of simulation that comes with technology, the transformations in social and cultural spheres in the process of extinction, the technological elements that cause these transformations and the destructive nature of technology are questioned. One of the important factors reflecting the character of our age of technology is the phenomenon of consumption. The fact that technology develops with each passing day in our lives changes our behavioural patterns in social life and carries the phenomenon of consumption to an important place. In this sense, in the light of Baudrillard's considerations, the culture of consumption was also dealt with. In relation to this, the effects of media tools on the perception of reality, what kind of functions the mass media have in social life in today's world, and the relation of the phenomenon of consumption reflecting the character of the era to the media tools are also within the scope of our study. The subject-matter that Baudrillard overemphasises is the destructive power of simulation games on the reality. Simulation games occur in a universe dominated by technological processes and virtuality. Our study, based on the concepts of "simulation", "simulacra", "reality", "hyperreality" and the like, reveals the negative reflections of the opportunities introduced by advanced technologies on society and culture.
