Art has existed since the time of mankind. The wall paintings of the primitive people and the goddess statues are proof of this. The process of the formation of art has begun as a ritual and later transformed into a pleasure. The primitive art movement began under the leadership of Paul Gauguin as the uprising of the western racist attitude and strict rules in the field of art, and influenced many western artists. The reason why primitive art is so attractive is that it is not spoiled by the false and relentless appeal of the materialist values of western society. This trend has become a revolutionary style among western artists. The opening of primitive art museums, the proliferation of exhibitions and the curiosity of primitive art has led to recognition. The desire to recognize the primitive art, which is quite different from the art of the period, was the beginning of a new era in art and with the help of many revolutionary innovations, art movements started to be created by the artists. Picasso and Miro, one of the most important representatives of this new concept that transformed primitive art from primitive art into an art movement, used the ceramic material as an alternative and many works with primitive effects have been carried to our day. In this study, the effect of primitivism in Picasso and Miro's ceramics is explained in detail with visual and interpretive support.
