Abstract:
The present work deals with applicability of the fly ash (thermal power plant waste) as a coating onto the steel substrates by means of plasma spray coating technology. Plasma sprayed fly ash coatings obtained with and without of different proportions of aluminum powder. Coating morphology characterized by optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis was applied to determine crystalline phase constituents. Results reveal that possible use of thermal power plant waste fly ash as a thermally sprayed coating. The interface bond strength of coating performed by means of coating pull-out method showed that the addition of aluminum powder increases the bond strength.
