Abstract:
Grain growth kinetics of the glassceramics produced from fly ash of Seyitomer power plant in Turkey has been investigated. In this process, fly ash was melted and casted as glass. Produced glass materials were heat treated at 1073, 1123, and 1173 K for 30240 min in order to produce glassceramic. The phases formed in the glassceramics were diopsite and augite. Grain growth activation energy of the glassceramic was 320 kJ/mol. Grain growth exponents (n) of the glassceramics were changing between 3.322 and 5.076 depending on treatment time and temperature.
