dc.description.abstract The powder mixtures of Talc-Kaolinite-Alumina-Basalt-Quartz were mechanically activated in a planetary ball mill for 1 hour. The structural alterations and thermal behaviour of the powder mixture were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermal analysis (TG-DTA). The results showed that the mechanical activation led to amorphisation and decreased the temperature of cordierite formation.
