dc.description.abstract This study aims at determining teachers' professional efficacy of measurement and evaluation tools and methods. In line with this purpose, Sakarya province was set as the population, and the research sample was composed of 500 participants who were determined by considering the number of teachers in schools to represent each of the 16 districts of Sakarya province and who were chosen through stratified sampling method. Questionnaires called "the Survey for Teachers' Views of Measurement and Evaluation Practices" and "the Survey for the Types of Measurements Tools Used and their Frequency of Use" were employed as the tool of data collection. Besides, a semi-structured questionnaire form was also used in the research. Almost all of the teachers were found to use multiple choice tests the most frequently as the tool of measurement. Moreover, they were found to be rather reluctant to use essay type written exams or exams requiring students to give short answers. Besides, most of the participants have not even heard PISA, TIMMS and other international exams Turkey attend.
