İzmit Pertev Mehmed Paşa Cami, Orhan Cami, Hüseyin Paşa Cami ve Yumurtacı Cami hazirelerinde bulunan mezar kitabelerinin hat sanatı yönüyle incelenmesi = The examination of the grave inscriptions in İzmit Pertev Mehmed Pasha Mosque, Orhan Mosque, Huseyin Pasha Mosque and Yumurtacı Mosque grades in terms of Islamic calligraphy

Abstract

Bu çalışmayla, İzmit ilçesinde bulunan dört tarihî Osmanlı Cami hazirelerindeki Mezar taşlarının günümüz Türkçesine transkripsiyonu yapılarak, kitâbelerde bulunan eski yazıların hat sanatı bakımından detaylı olarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda, kitâbelerin ait olduğu merhum/merhumelerin kimlik bilgileri analiz edilerek, tez çalışması içerisinde, görsel veriler ışığında kataloglama yapılmıştır. Katalog kısmında Mezar taşının bugünkü durumundan, kitâbede kullanılan Hat çeşidine; Şahidenin ölçüsünden kitâbe metninin edebî içeriğine kadarki bilgi ve bulgular detaylı bir şekilde açıklanmıştır. Cami hazirelerinde yapılan saha çalışmalarında kaydedilen bulgular ile akademik kaynaklardaki veriler arasında karşılaştırma yapılarak, zaman içerisinde hazirelere kazandırılan yeni kitâbelerin varlığı üzerine görsel kaynaklar eklenerek güncelleştirme yapılmıştır. Buna örnek olarak; sayın Osman Nuri Cebe'nin Şubat/2015 tarihinde yayımlanan "İzmit Mezar Kitâbeleri" adlı çalışmasında Yumurtacı Camii ve Pertev Mehmed Paşa Cami hazirelerinde bulunan Mezar taşlarının sayı ve adetlerinin, bu tez çalışması bağlamında elde edilen Mezar taşı sayısından daha az olduğu incelenmiştir. Çalışmaya konu olan "Orhan Cami", "Hüseyin Paşa Cami", "Pertev Mehmed Paşa Cami (Yenicuma)" ve "Yumurtacı Cami" hazirelerindeki Mezar taşlarının Hat sanatı bağlamınca akademik anlamda daha önce hiç çalışılmamış olması üzerine, gerekli saha çalışması yapılarak, alanla ilgili kaynak ve literatür taraması detaylı bir şekilde tamamlanmıştır. Kitâbelerde bulunan eski yazılar hem görsel verilerle hem de Hat Sanatı açısından yapılan değerlendirme ve yorumlamalarla desteklenerek, akademi dünyasına katkı sağlaması amaçlanan bir çalışma ortaya konulması hedeflenmiştir.

This study aims to transcribe the tombstones in the four historical Ottoman Mosque graveyards in the Izmit district into modern Turkish and to examine the old writings on the inscriptions in detail in terms of calligraphy. In line with the data obtained, the identity information of the deceased to whom the inscriptions belonged was analyzed and catalogued in the terms of visual data within the scope of the thesis study. In the catalogue section, information and findings ranging from the current state of the tombstone to the type of calligraphy used in the inscription, from the size of the tombstones to the literary content of the inscription text are explained in detail. Comparisons were made between the findings recorded in the field studies carried out in the mosque graveyards and academic sources, and visual sources were added to update the existence of new inscriptions added to the graveyards over time. For example, in the study titled "İzmit Tombstone Inscriptions" published in February 2015 by Mr. Osman Nuri Cebe, it was examined that the number and quantity of tombstones found in the graveyards of Yumurtacı Mosque and Pertev Mehmed Pasha Mosque were less than the number of tombstones obtained in the context of this thesis. Since the gravestones in the graveyards of "Orhan Mosque", "Hüseyin Paşa Mosque", "Pertev Mehmed Paşa Mosque (Yenicuma)" and "Yumurtacı Mosque", which are the subjects of the study, have never been studied academically in the context of calligraphy, the necessary field work was carried out and a detailed review of the sources and literature related to the area was completed. It is aimed to present a study that aims to contribute to the academic world by supporting the old writings found in the inscriptions with both visual data and evaluations and interpretations made in terms of Calligraphy.
