Bu tez, kültürel miras yönetimi kapsamında Havran Belediyesi'nin Koca Seyit ve Seyit Onbaşı adıyla yürüttüğü faaliyetlerin imajını halkla ilişkiler bilim alanı çerçevesinde incelemektedir. Çalışma, Koca Seyit olarak tanınan Seyit Onbaşı'nın tarihsel önemini, Balıkesir ilinin Havran ilçesine bağlı Kocaseyit köyünde, kültürel miras perspektifinden ele almayı ve Seyit Onbaşı anısına düzenlenen etkinliklerin imaj yönetimi çerçevesinde değerlendirilmesini amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın evreni, Havran Belediyesi'nin Seyit Onbaşı ile ilgili kültürel miras yönetimi faaliyetlerini kapsarken, örneklem olarak Havran Belediyesi yetkilileri ve Kocaseyit köyü sakinleri seçilmiştir. Veri toplama yöntemi olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmış ve araştırma yöntemi olarak betimsel analiz uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın evreni, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Araştırmaya Kocaseyit köyünden iki yerel sakin, Kocaseyit köy muhtarı, Havran Belediye Başkan Yardımcısı ve Koca Seyit Müzesi yöneticisi olmak üzere toplam beş katılımcının dahil edilmesi planlanmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen bulgular, betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılarak sunulacaktır. Balıkesir ilinin Havran ilçesi, Seyit Onbaşı'nın memleketi olarak, kahramanın hayatına ve mirasına ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Kocaseyit köyü, Seyit Onbaşı'nın kültürel mirasının derinlemesine araştırılması için önemli bir zemin olmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, Havran Belediyesi tarafından Seyit Onbaşı'nın anısına düzenlenen etkinlikler, büyük bir önem taşımakta ve bu alanda yeterli akademik çalışmanın bulunmaması, araştırmanın değerini artırmaktadır. Havran Belediyesi'nin düzenlediği etkinlikler Seyit Onbaşı'nın yaşamına, kahramanlıklarına ve öyküsüne odaklanan bir perspektif sunmakta olup bu etkinliklerin temel amacı, Seyit Onbaşı'nın anısını yaşatmak ve kültürel mirasını gelecek nesillere aktarmaktır.
This thesis examines the image of the activities carried out by Havran Municipality under the name of Koca Seyit and Seyit Onbaşı within the scope of cultural heritage management within the framework of the field of public relations. The study aims to explore the historical significance of Seyit Onbaşı, renowned as Koca Seyit, from a cultural heritage perspective within the village of Kocaseyit, located in the Havran district of Balıkesir Province. Additionally, it seeks to evaluate the image management strategies associated with the events organized in memory of Seyit Onbaşı. The scope of the research encompasses the cultural heritage management activities related to Seyit Onbaşı conducted by the Havran Municipality. The sample for this study includes officials from the Havran Municipality and residents of Kocaseyit village. The data collection method employed is semi-structured interviews, and the research method utilized is descriptive analysis. The study's universe was determined through purposive sampling, which involved selecting five participants: two local residents from Kocaseyit village, the village head, the Deputy Mayor of Havran, and the administrator of the Koca Seyit Museum. The findings obtained from the interviews will be presented using descriptive analysis techniques. The Havran district in Balıkesir Province, as the hometown of Seyit Onbaşı, serves as the custodian of the hero's life and legacy. The village of Kocaseyit offers a significant platform for an in-depth examination of Seyit Onbaşı's cultural heritage. In this context, the events organized by the Havran Municipality in memory of Seyit Onbaşı hold substantial importance. The lack of sufficient academic research in this domain enhances the significance of this study. The activities organized by the Havran Municipality provide a perspective focused on Seyit Onbaşı's life, heroism, and narrative, with the primary objective of preserving Seyit Onbaşı's memory and transmitting his cultural heritage to future generations.
