Çeviri Çocuk Edebiyatı Eserlerinin Kültür Aktarımındaki Rolüne Bir Örnek: Pollyanna = A Sample of Translated Children's Literature Works' Role in Cultural Transfer: Pollyanna

Kültür, içinde var olduğu toplumun dil, din, gelenek-görenek, sanat, müzik gibi çeşitli alt dallarından izler taşır ve bu izler o kültür içinde filizlenen yazınsal metinlere yansır. Son zamanlarda sayısı giderek artan çocuk edebiyatı çeviri eserleri de çocukların farklı kültürleri tanımalarını, o kültürlere dair farkındalık oluşturmalarını, duygu ve düşüncelerini geliştirmelerini sağlar. Ancak çocuk kitaplarının çevirisi diğer türlere göre daha zordur. Çocuk edebiyatı çevirmenlerinin hem kaynak kültüre hem de erek kültüre ait unsurları ihmal etmeden ve hitap ettiği yaş grubunun özelliklerine uygun çeviri yapabilmeleri için başvurabilecekleri farklı çeviri stratejileri mevcuttur. Bu çalışmada, Eleanor H. PORTER'e ait "Pollyanna" adlı çocuk kitabının orijinal (İngilizce) metni ile iki farklı Türkçe çevirisi incelenmiş, erek metinlerdeki çeviri stratejileri karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu çalışma doküman inceleme ve literatür taraması yöntemleri kullanılarak yapılmış ve bu alanda yazılan kaynaklar taranmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, çocuk kitapları çevirmenlerinin hem kaynak kültüre hem de erek kültüre hâkim olması gerektiği, çocuklar için akıcı ve anlaşılır bir metin oluşturabilmek için farklı çeviri stratejileri kullanılabileceği görülmüştür. a doldurulacaktır.

However, translation of children's books is more difficult than other genres. There are different translation strategies that children's literature translators can apply to ensure that they can translate in accordance with the characteristics of the age group they address, without neglecting the elements of both the source culture and the target culture. In this study, the original (English) text and two different Turkish translations of the children's book "Pollyanna" by Eleanor H. PORTER were examined and the translation strategies in the target texts were compared. This study was carried out using document review and literature review methods and the sources written in this field were scanned. As a result of the study, it was seen that translators of children's books should have knowledge of both the source culture and the target culture, and different translation strategies can be used to create a fluent and understandable text for children. durulacaktır.
