Yetişkinlerde çevre bilinci ve maneviyat ilişkisi üzerine nicel bir araştırma = A quantitative research on the relationship between environmental awareness and spirituality in adults

Abstract

Bu araştırma çevre bilinci ile maneviyat arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çevre bilincinin bilişsel, duyuşsal ve davranışsal boyutları bulunmaktadır. Bilişsel boyut, çevreye ilişkin problemler, çözüm yolları ve doğa hakkındaki bilgileri kapsar. Duyuşsal boyut, çevreye yönelik tutumları ve duygusal tepkileri içerirken, davranışsal boyut çevre dostu eylemleri ifade eder. Araştırmada 18 yaş üstü 231 kadın, 137 erkek olmak üzere toplamda 368 kişi üzerinde anket tekniği uygulanmıştır. Katılımcılara 2023 Aralık ayında Google Forms üzerinden ulaşılmıştır. Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Çevreye Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (ÇYTÖ) ve Maneviyat Ölçeğinden elde edilen veriler SPSS 25.0 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Kişisel Bilgi Formunda demografik özelliklerin yanında çevre bilinci, öznel dindarlık algısı ve ibadetlerle ilgili sorular da yer almış, bunların analizinde parametrik testler kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak Çevreye Yönelik Tutum Ölçeğinin bilgi, duygu ve davranış alt boyutları ile Maneviyat Ölçeğinin, aşkınlık, manevi yaşantı, anlam arayışı, manevi başa çıkma ve bağlantı boyutları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu bulgulanmıştır. Bireylerin manevi yönelimleri arttıkça çevre bilincinin de arttığı tespit edilmiştir.

This research aims to examine the relationship between environmental awareness and spirituality. Environmental awareness has cognitive, affective and behavioral dimensions. The cognitive dimension covers environmental problems, solutions and knowledge about nature. The affective dimension includes attitudes and emotional reactions towards the environment, while the behavioral dimension refers to environmentally friendly actions. In the research, a survey technique was applied to a total of 368 people, 231 women and 137 men, over the age of 18. Participants were reached via Google Forms in December 2023. The data obtained from the Personal Information Form, the Attitudes Towards the Environment Scale (ESTS) and the Spirituality Scale were analyzed using the SPSS for Windows 25.0 program. In addition to demographic characteristics, the Personal Information Form also included questions about environmental awareness, subjective perception of religiosity and worship, and parametric tests were used in their analysis. As a result, it was found that there was a statistically significant relationship between the knowledge, emotion and behavior sub-dimensions of the Attitudes Towards the Environment Scale and the transcendence, spiritual experience, search for meaning, spiritual coping and connection dimensions of the Spirituality Scale. It has been determined that as individuals' spiritual orientation increases, environmental awareness also increases.
