Giyilebilir sanat bağlamında seramik kadın kıyafetlerinin araştırılması ve tasarım uygulamaları = Research and design applications of ceramic women's clothes in the context of wearable art

Abstract

1960'larda moda alanında, estetik ve sanatsal ifade özgürlüğü gelişerek giyilebilir sanat kavramı ortaya çıkmıştır. Giyilebilir olarak tasarlanan sanat nesnesi, bedeni bir tablo gibi kullanmakta, dokunulmaz olan sanatı dokunulur kılarak sanat ve moda alanına farklı bir bakış açısıyla katkı sağlamaktadır. Giyilebilir sanat kavramında konu dâhilinde her türlü malzeme ile bir arada çalışılabilmektedir. Bu malzemelerden biri olan seramik, plastik yapısı sayesinde istenilen şeklin verilebildiği ve pişirildikten sonra daha dayanıklı hale geldiğinden giyilebilir sanat alanında kullanılmaktadır. Giyilebilir seramik ilk başlarda aksesuar üretimiyle başlamış olsa da kıyafet, ayakkabı olarak da üretildiği gözlemlenmiştir. Giyilebilir seramik kıyafet üretimi oldukça yeni bir alandır ve sözü edilen alanda ülkemizde az sayıda sanatçının çalıştığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada ilk insanlardan günümüze kadar geçen süreçte kadın kıyafetleri araştırılmıştır. Moda kavramı içerisinde yer alan giyilebilir sanat ve seramik malzemesi kullanılarak yapılan kıyafetler hakkında bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Bu bağlamda tez kapsamında, giyilebilir seramik olarak tasarlanan ve üretilen kadın kıyafetlerin kullanımına yönelik bir moda oluşturarak, moda alanı ile seramik sanatı arasında bağ kurup disiplinler arası çalışma yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Tasarımlardan hareketle üretilen çalışmalarda dikiş, ip, örgü gibi malzeme ve teknikler kullanarak bağ ve düğüm unsurlarını kavramlaştırarak anlatım güçlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Giyilebilir seramik olarak üretilen kadın kıyafetlerinde seramiğin kırılganlığını ve ağırlığını, kumaşın hafif ve kıvrımlı yapısının zıtlıklarıyla buluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Tasarım ve seramik uygulamaları sonucunda, "Elinin Çamuruyla…" başlıklı kişisel sergi düzenlenmiş ve seramik kadın kıyafetleri canlı, cansız manken eşliğinde sergilenmiştir. Sergi görselleriyle gelecekte benzer alanda çalışma yapacak olan araştırmacılara bu çalışmanın kaynak sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

In the 1960s, the concept of wearable art emerged in the field of fashion by developing aesthetic and artistic freedom of expression. The art object, designed as wearable, uses the body like a painting and contributes to the field of art and fashion from a different perspective by making the untouchable art touchable. In the concept of wearable art, it is possible to work together with all kinds of materials within the subject. Ceramic, one of these materials, is used in the field of wearable art because it can be given the desired shape thanks to its plastic structure and becomes more durable after firing. Although wearable ceramics started with the production of accessories at first, it was observed that it was also produced as clothes and shoes. Wearable ceramic clothing production is a very new field and it has been determined that few artists are working in our country in the said field. In this study, women's clothes have been investigated in the process from the first people to the present day. Information about wearable art within the concept of fashion and clothes made using ceramic materials are included. In this context, within the scope of the thesis, it is aimed to create a fashion for the use of women's clothes designed and produced as wearable ceramics, to establish a connection between the field of fashion and ceramic art and to make interdisciplinary studies. In the works produced based on the designs, it was tried to strengthen the expression by conceptualising the elements of ties and knots by using materials and techniques such as sewing, rope, knitting. In women's clothes produced as wearable ceramics, the fragility and weight of ceramics were tried to be brought together with the contrasts of the light and curved structure of the fabric. As a result of the design and ceramic applications, a solo exhibition titled "With the Mud of Her Hand..." was organised and ceramic women's clothes were exhibited with live and inanimate mannequins. It is thought that this study will provide a source for researchers who will work in a similar field in the future with the exhibition visuals.
