ÖZET Anahtar Kelimeler :FE-Cu-C, Fe-C, kırılma tokluğu, toz metalürjisi Bu çalışmada, Fe-Cu-C ve Fe-Cu esaslı toz metalürjisi (T/M) parçalar farklı oranlarda toz karışımları kullanılarak üretilmiştir. Üretim aşamasında, önce tozlar karıştırılmış, sonra soğuk preslenmiştir. Preslenen parçalar 1200 °C'de vakumlu bir fırında 45 dakika sinterlenmiş ve fırında yavaş soğutularak test numuneleri elde edilmiştir. Fe-Cu numunelerinde bakır miktarı ve Fe-Cu-C numunelerinde hem bakır, hem de grafit miktarları değiştirilerek üretilen T/M parçaları, suda ve yağda sertleştirilmişlerdir. Üretilen Fe-Cu-C ve Fe-Cu T/M parçaların sinterlenmiş halde ve ısıl işlem ile sertleştirildikten sonra, kırılma toklukları ve sertlikleri tespit edilmiştir. Bakır ve grafit miktarı artışlarının, malzemenin kırılma tokluğunu (Kıc) ve sertliğini nasıl etkilediği incelenmiştir. Meydana gelen mikro yapısal değişiklikler değerlendirilmiştir. Deney sonuçlarına göre, Fe-Cu-C ve Fe-Cu T/M parçalarında, bakır ve grafit oranı arttıkça, sertlik miktarı da artış göstermiştir. Bakır oranı arttıkça kırılma tokluğu (Kıc) da artmıştır. Grafit oram artıkça (Kıc) değerinde azalma meydana gelmiştir. Kırılma tokluğu ve sertlik değerleri suda sertleştirilmiş numunelerde en fazla, yağda sertleştirilmişlerde daha düşük ve ısıl işlem görmemişlerde ise en düşük olarak tespit edilmiştir. x
FRACTURE TOUGHNESS AND HARDNESS OF Fe-Cu-C AND Fe-Cu P/M COMPONENTS AND MICROSTRUCTURAL CHARACTERISATION Key words : FE-Cu-C, Fe-C, fracture toughness, powder metallurgy This study is concerned with the fabrication of Fe-Cu-C and Fe-Cu alloys using by mechanical powder metallurgy (P/M) processing, involving powder mixing, cold pressing, sintering at 1200°C in a vacuum environment and cooling. In the Fe-Cu-C and Fe-Cu alloy systems, the content of copper was changed from 3.5% to 5%. The fracture toughness measurements were carried out three different heat treatment conditions: 1) as-sintered, 2) 800°C for 120 minutes followed by oil cooling and 3) 800°C for 120 minutes followed by water-cooling. The main objectives of the present study are that the effect of copper and graphite contents on fracture toughness and hardness values of Fe-Cu-C and Fe-Cu P/M alloys at different heat treatment conditions are reported. Microstructure characterisation by light microscopy was also investigated. The results show that the hardness of Fe-Cu-C and Fe-Cu P/M alloy specimens improved with increasing the content of copper and graphite. The fracture toughness of Fe-Cu-C and Fe-Cu P/M alloys also improved with increasing the content of copper, but decreased with decreasing the content of graphite. The fracture toughness values of as-sintered these P/M alloys were lower than that's of oil cooling and water-cooling, respectively. XI
