Bu yanlış düşünceyi sona erdirmek için; yapı ile ilgili tüm meslek grupları aynı ölçüde sorumludur. Örnek verilmesi gerekirse, genelde yapı mimarının, uygulamacısın hataları ve zemin sorunları hep göz ardı edilmektedir. Bunu engellemek için daha yapı yapma fikri oluşurken; yapı sahibi, tasarımcı, uygulayıcı ve yapı denetçisi gibi meslek grupları tam bir uyum içinde çalışmalı ve en ufak bir hatada tümünün aynı ölçüde sorumlu olacağı bilincine varılmalıdır. Bunun sonucunda birbirlerini oto kontrol yöntemi ile takibe almalıdırlar. Bu bilinç ve sorumluluk duygusu içinde; 1 7 Ağustos 1999 depreminin tüm olumsuz etkenler iyi bir şekilde anlaşılıp; bu bilgi çerçevesinde nasıl depreme karşı dayanıklı yapı yapabilirim fikri benimsenmelidir. Depremden kaçışın mümkün olmadığı gibi buna karşın depreme dayanıklı yapı yapılması mümkün olunacağı fikrine varılmalı ve bu fikir çalışma prensip olarak herkes tarafından benimsenmelidir. XV
