İşletme stratejisi ve insan kaynaklan stratejisi arasında stratejik bağ oluşturan (maliyet liderliği-istihdam, buluş-kolaylaştırma, ve kalite iyileştirme-kümelenme vb.) şirketlerin örgütsel performansı böyle bağlantıyı kuramayan şirketlerinkine göre daha yüksektir" hipotezini test etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın modeli tanımlayıcıdır ve değişkenler arasındaki ilişkileri anlamaya çalışmaktadır. Araştırmada, Porter'in (2003) jenerik stratejileri ile Schuler ve Jackson'ın (1987a) bu stratejilerle uyumlu olan İK stratejilerini dayanak olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu sratejiler, maliyet liderliği için, uygulamaya koyma (utilization); farklılaşma (buluş) için, kolaylaştırma (facilitation) ve odaklanma için kalite iyileştirme şeklinde eşleştirilmiştir. Bu eşleştirmeyle uyumlu olan insan kaynaklan uygulamaları esas alınarak işletme stratejisi ve insan kaynaklan uyumu tespit edilmiştir. Bu uyumun test edilmesinde için dört aşamalı bir süreç kullanılmıştır: a) İnsan kaynaklarını stratejik bir unsur olarak kullanan şirketlerin tesbiti b) Şirketlerin rekabet stratejisi türünün tesbiti c) Rekabet stratejisi türüne göre insan kaynaklan stratejisinin uyumluluğunun tesbiti d) Bu uyumluluğu elde eden şirketlerin böyle bir uyumluluğa ulaşmayan şirketlere göre organizasyonel performansının durumunun tespiti. Araştırma sonuçlan İSO 500 - 2003 Marmara Bölgesi şirketlerinde işletme stratejisi ve İK stratejisini uyumlaştıran bir şirketi ortaya çıkarmadığı için araştırma konusu bu "uyumlaştırmama" nedenlerini bulmaya yönelmiştir. Bunun için ikinci bir anket formu düzenlenerek bir önceki anket çalışmasını cevaplandıran şirketlerin Genel Müdürleri doldurmak üzere gönderilmiştir (81 şirket). 45 geri dönüşle tespit edilen bulgulara göre araştırma kapsamındaki şirketlerde strateji oluşturulmasında göz ardı edilebilecek ilk akla gelen birim İK olmakta ve bu birimin göz ardı edilmesinin gerekçesi olarak da İK'nı müşteriyle doğrudan ilişkisinin olmamasını, şirket hedeflerine ulaşmada zorluk veya kolaylaştırıcılık rolünün olmamasını, ve stratejik kararlar uyum çabukluğunun olmamasını göstermişlerdir. Ayrıca rekabet stratejisi farklılığının örgütsel performansta bir farklılık oluşturup oluşturmadığı araştırıldığında ise karma stratejileri takip eden şirketlerin diğer stratejilere oranla daha yüksek örgütsel performansa ulaştığı görülmektedir. Firms that have formed strategic link between business strategy and human resources strategy (cost leadership-utilization, innovation - facilitation and enhancing quality- accumulation etc.) have higher organizational performance than firms that have not formed strategic link in this case." The model of the research is definitive and trying to understand relationships among the variables. It has been used as confirmations that Generic Strategies of Porter (2003) and HR strategies of Schuler and Jackson (1987a) in this study. Those strategies have been matched as cost leadership and utilization, differentiation (finding out) and facilitation, focusing and enhancing quality. It has been determined that concordance of Business strategies and human resources based on human resources application concordant to this matching. It has been used a four phase-process to test the concordance. a) Determine the firms using human resources as a strategic factor b) Determine the types of the competitive strategies that firms using c) Determine the concordance of human resources strategies according to types of the competitive strategies d) Determine organizational performance in firms achieving the concordance and those not achieving. Since the conclusions of the research have not found out any firms that had achieved the concordance to business strategy and HR strategy in ISO 500-2003 Marmara Region Firms, the subject of the research followed to find out causes of discordance. For this reason, the second Inquiry has sent to the general director of the firms (81 Firms) who had answered the first Inquiry. According to 45 returning Inquiries, we have concluded that HR unit has been seen of no account in forming the strategies in concerning Firms. It has been shown the reasons of this case that HR unit has no direct effect on consumers, no arduousness and facilitation roles in achieving firm's goal and no rapid concordance to strategic decision. Also, we examine if the competition strategy varieties effect on organizational performance, firms had followed mixed strategies (stuck in the middle) have obtained higher organizational performance than those following the other strategies.
