ÖZET: Polimer, Termoplastik, Aşınma, Sürtünme, Triboloji Bu çalışma, tren vagon boj ilerinde kullanılan döküm poliamid esaslı bağaların aşınma problemlerini azaltmak ve alternatif polimer malzemeyi tespit etmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bunun için aşınma ve sürtünmeye dirençli oldukları bilinen poli-eter- eter-keton (PEEK) ve kompozitleri, poliamid ve kompozitleri ile diğer çeşitli mühendislik polimerlerinden, geleneksel bağa malzemesine alternatif olarak 21 çeşit polimer esaslı malzeme seçilmiştir. Bu malzemeler; katkısız poli-eter-eter-keton (PEEK), % 30 karbon elyaf katkılı poli-eter-eter-keton (PEEK+%30CF), % 30 cam elyaf katkılı poli-eter-eter- keton (PEEK+%30GF), % 10 teflon+% 10 karbon elyaf+% 10 grafit katkılı poli-eter-eter- keton (PEEK/PTFE/CF/GRF), katkısız poliamid 6(PA 6), geleneksel döküm poliamid (PA6G), özel katkılı döküm poliamid (PA6G+MC), yağlı döküm poliamid (PA6G+LFX), katı yağlayıcı katkılı döküm poliamid (PA6G+NSM), % 30 cam elyaf katkılı poliamid 6 (PA6+%30GF), % 15 cam elyaf katkılı-yanmaz geciktiricili poliamid 66 (PA66+%15GF), % 30 cam elyaf katkılı poliamid 12(PA12+%30GF), % 30 cam elyaf katkılı poliamid 46 (PA46+%30GF), katkısız poli-oksi-metilen(POM), silikon ve waks katkılı poli-oksi-metilen (POM+SW), % 30 cam elyaf katkılı poli-oksi-metilen (POM+%30GF), katkısız Ertacetal C poli-oksi-metilen (POM-ERTC), sıvı kristal polimer (LCP), % 40 cam elyaf katkılı poli- fenilen-sülfıt (PPS+%40GF), % 30 cam elyaf katkılı poli-bütilen-tereftalat (PBT+%30GF), çok yüksek molekül ağırlıklı polietilen (UHMWPE), termoplastik polyester (PET). Bu malzemelerin aşınma ve sürtünme davranışları, pim-disk aşınma cihazında incelenmiştir. 3600 m kayma mesafesi boyunca 0.5 ve 1 m/s kayma hızlan için 60, 80 ve 100 N'luk yükler uygulanmıştır. Disk malzemesi olarak C1040 çeliği kullanıldı. Deney düzeneğinde sürtünme kuvvetini ölçmek için, ekstansometre, gerilim kuvvetlendirici, analog/dijital(A/D) çevirici entegre devre ve bilgisayar bağlantısı kullanılmıştır. Her bir polimer malzemenin C1040 çeliğine karşı sürtünme katsayıları ve aşınma miktarları tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar ile geleneksel olarak kullanılan döküm Poliamid' in aşınma ve sürtünme davranışları karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu değerler içerisinde, tren vagon bujilerinde bağa malzemesi olarak kullanılan geleneksel döküm Poliamid çeşidinin aşınma oram değeri 1.33xlO'14m3/Nm ve sürtünme katsayısı 0.34'dür. Bağa malzemesine alternatif olarak önerilen polimerler, PA6+%30GF aşınma oram 6.6x10 m3/Nm ve sürtünme katsayısı 0.30 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu malzeme geleneksel döküm poliamidin aşınma oranına göre 2 kat ömür artışı sağlarken, birim maliyet açısından 2.84 kat kazanç sağlamıştır. İkinci bir alternatif polimer PA6G+LFX'in aşınma oram 4.4xl0"15 m3/Nm ve sürtünme katsayısı 0.17 olup, 3 kat ömür artışı sağlarken, birim maliyet açısından 1.52 kat kazanç sağlamıştır. Üçüncü bir alternatif PA6G+NSM aşınma oram 4.4x1 0"15 m3/Nm, sürtünme katsayısı 0.20 olup, 3 kat ömür artışı sağlarken, birim maliyet açısından 1.26 kat kazanç sağlamıştır.
EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE ALTERNATIVE POLYMER MATERIALS FOR RAILWAY CAR BOGY BUSHES SUMMARY Keywords: Polymer, Thermoplastic, Wear, Friction, Tribology This study was carried out for solving or reducing the wearing problems of cast polyamide based bushes which are used in railway car bogies. For this purpose, poly-ether-ether- ketone(PEEK), polyamide and their composites with different wear and friction resistant engineering polymers were selected as alternative to conventional bush materials. In the experiments 21 different types of specimens were used. These materials are unfilled poly- ether-ether-ketone(PEEK), 30 % carbon fibre reinforced poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK+30%CF), 30 % glass fibre reinforced poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK+30%GF), 10 % poly-tetra-fluoro-ethylene(PTFE) +10 % carbon fibre reinforced+10 % graphite filled poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK/PTFE/CF/GRF), unfilled polyamide 6(PA6), conventional cast polyamide (PA6G), special filled cast polyamide (PA6G+MC), oil cast polyamide (PA6G+LFX), solid lubrication filled cast polyamide (PA6G+NSM), 30 % glass fibre reinforced polyamide 6(PA6+30%GF), 15 % glass fibre reinforced flame retardant polyamide 66(PA66+15%GF), 30 % glass fibre reinforced polyamide 12 (PA12+30%GF), 30 % glass fibre reinforced polyamide 46(PA46+30%GF), unfilled poly-ox-methylene (POM), silicon and wax filled poly-ox-methylene (POM+SW), 30 % glass fibre reinforced poly-ox-methylene (POM+30%GF), unfilled Ertacetal C poly-ox-methylene (POM-ERTC), liquid crystal polymer(LCP), 40 % glass fibre reinforced poly-phenylene-sulfide (PPS+40%GF), 30 % glass fibre reinforced poly-butylene-terephthalate (PBT+30%GF), ul1xa-high-molecular-weight-poly-ethylene(UHMWPE) and thermoplastic polyester(PET). Wear and friction behaviour of these materials were investigated by using pin-on disc wear device. 60, 80 and 100 N loads were applied for the sliding velocities of 0.5 and 1 m/s during 3600 m sliding distance. C1040 steel was used as counterface. Extensometer, voltage amplifier, analog/digital converter integrated circuit and a computer were used to measure friction forces during the tests. Friction coefficient and wear loss of each material against CI 040 steel counterface were determined. The results were compared with the friction and wear behaviours of the conventional cast polyamide. Specific wear rate and friction coefficient of conventional cast polyamide currently used in railway car bogy as bush material are 1.33xl0"14 m3/Nm and 0.34 respectively. Specific wear rate and friction coefficient of PA6+30%GF which is suggested as an alternative bush material are determined as 6.6xl0"15 m3/Nm and 0.30 respectively. This material increased the material life three times and reduced the cost by 2.84 times compared to the conventional bush material. The second alternative polymer, PA6G+LFX has the specific wear rate of 4.4x1 0"15 m3/Nm and the friction coefficient of 0.17. It increased the material life 3 times and gained a cost saving by 1.52 times compared to the conventional bush material. The third alternative polymer, PA6G+NSM has the specific wear rate of 4.4xl0"15 m3/Nm and the friction coefficient of 0.20. It increased the material life 3 times and reduced the cost by 1.26 times compared to the conventional bush material. XVII
