ÖZET: Zeolit, uçucu kül, taban külü, Kula cürufu, öğütme, eğilmede çekme dayanımı, basınç dayanımı, dayanıklılık, sülfat etkisi, çimento performansı. Çimento ve beton performansının geliştirilmesinde uygun puzolanların, uygun miktarlarda, bilinçli bir şekilde kullanılması bir çok çevresel, teknik ve ekonomik faydalar sağlamaktadır. Bilindiği gibi ülkemiz zengin doğal puzolan yataklarına sahiptir. Bu çalışmada; doğal puzolan olan Manisa-Gördes doğal zeoliti, Kula cürufu ve Soma Termik Santrali atıkları; uçucu kül ve taban külü ile birlikte değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada söz konusu doğal puzolanlar ve atıklar çimento üretiminde katkı maddesi olarak kullanılmıştır. Bu sayede çimento üretiminde enerji tasarrufu sağlanması ve atık maddelerin çevreye verebilecekleri olumsuz etkilerin giderilmesi de amaçlanmıştır. Zeolit ve Kula cürufu önce ayrı ayrı belirli oranlarda çimento klinkerine katılmış, daha sonra değişik oranlarda zeolit-uçucu kül, zeolit-taban külü ve zeolit-Kula cürufu varyasyon ları katkı maddesi olarak denenmiştir. Katkıların, çimento priz süresi, hacim genleşmesi, eğilmede çekme dayanımı ve basınç dayanımı, öğütme süresi ve incelik gibi özellikleri üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Çimento karışımlarına ait fiziksel ve mekanik özellikler TS 24'e göre tayin edilmiştir. Kimyasal analizler XRF ve hacimsel yöntemlere göre yapılmıştır. Çimento karışımlarının fiziksel, kimyasal ve mekanik özellik Türk Standartlarıyla uyum halindedir. Sonuçler SEM analizi ile desteklenmiştir. Puzolanların çimentonun bir kısmının yerine kullanılmasının sülfat dayanıklılığına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Puzolanik özelliği deneysel olarak belirlenen doğal zeolit, uçucu kül, taban külü ve Kula cürufunun sülfata karşı dayanıklılığını araştırmak için sülfat konsantrasyonu % 5 ile % 10 sodyum sülfat ve % 5 magnezyum sülfat çözeltileri kullanılmıştır. Deneyler standart harçlarda ve % 5, % 15, % 20, % 25 ve % 30 oranlarında ikameli olarak zeolit, uçucu kül, taban külü ve Kula cürufu ikili ve üçlü kombinasyonlarda çimentoya katılmış harçlarda yapılmıştır. Numuneler 28 gün kirece doygun suda saklanmış ve 28. gün, eskitme süreci için başlangıç kabul edilmiştir. Başlangıçta 2., 7., 28. ve 90. günlerde numunelerde eğilmede çekme dayanımı, basınç dayanımı ve birim ağırlık belirlenmiştir. Çözeltiler 14 gün ara ile yenilenmiş ve bu periyotlarda ağırlıklar ölçülmüştür. Sodyum sülfat çözeltilerinin harç özelliklerine etkileri zeolit, uçucu kül, taban külü ve Kula cürufu oranına göre değerlendirilmiştir. Çimentoya puzolanların katılması, 90. güne kadar yüksek konsantrasyonda bile harcın sülfata karşı dayanıklılığına olumlu etki yapmıştır. Böylece bu çalışmada kullanılan katkıların çimento üretiminde katkı maddesi olarak kullanılabileceği bulunmuştur.

UTILIZATION OF NATURAL ZEOLITE AND INDUSTRIAL WASTE IN IMPROVING CEMENT PERFORMANCE IN CEMENT PRODUCTION SUMMARY Keywords: zeolite, fly ash, bottom ash, Kula puzzolan, grinding, bending strength, compressive strength, durability, sulfate attacks, cement performance. The use of appropriate puzzolans in correct quantities provides some technical and economic advantages in improving cement and concrete performance. Since Turkey has rich puzzolan resources, it's aimed in this study to use natural puzzolans such as Manisa-Gördes zeolite and Kula puzzolan a long with the fly ash and bottom ashes of Soma thermal power plant in cement production. The natural puzzolans and industrial waste are used as additives in cement production. Therefore, power saving in cement production the minimization of detrimental effects to the environment that fly and bottom ashes would cause can be achieved. Zeolite and Kula puzzolan were first added to cement clinker at specific ratios and then various combinations of zeolite-fly ash, zeolite-bottom ash and zeolite-Kula puzzolan and were used as additives to cement in an attempt to determine the effect of additives on various properties of cement such as setting time, volume expansion, bending and compressive strength and grinding time. The physical and mechanical properties of the cement mixtures were determined as to corresponding Turkish codes (TS 24). Chemical analyses were performed using XRF and volume methods. The physical, chemical and mechanical properties of cement mixtures used were compatible with those required by the related Turkish codes. The results were supported by SEM analyses The effect of puzzolan use as a partial substitute for cement against sulfate resistance is also investigated. For this purposes, two kinds of sulfate solutions were used, one being the sodium sulfate with 5 % and 10 % sulfate concentration, the other being the magnesium sulfate with 5 % concentration. Experiments were performed using cement mixtures with various ratios of puzzolans added. The ratios used were 5, 10, 20, 25 and 30 percentages. The specimens were left in lime saturated water for 28 days. The 28th day was taken as the starting point for aging process. The values of bending and compressive strength and unit weight were determined on the 2nd, 7th, 28th and 90th days. The solutions were removed at 14 day intervals and the weights specified at the same periods. The effect of sulfate solutions on the properties of mortars were evaluated based on the puzzolan and industrial waste rates added. The figures obtained show that the addition of puzzolans and industrial waste improved the sulfate resistance of mortars up until 90 days even if high sulfate concentrations. Based on the findings of this research, it is concluded that the natural puzzolan previously mentioned and fly and bottom ashes can be used in cement production as additives to improve the quality of cement. xvii
