Bilgisayar destekli matematik öğretiminin 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin 'prizmalar' konusundaki başarısına etkisi

Abstract

Araştırma bilgisayar destekli matematik öğretiminin ortaokul 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin "geometrik cisimler" öğrenme alanın alt öğrenme alanı olan "prizmalar" konusundaki başarısına etkisini tespit etmek için yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın modeli ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen modelidir. Çalışma 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim yılı bahar dönemi Sakarya İli Adapazarı İlçesi Fatih Ortaokulunun 8. Sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşan deney ve kontrol grupları üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma 8A (27 kişi) ve 8B (27 kişi) olmak üzere iki sınıf düzeyinde yapılmıştır. Deney grubunda bilgisayar destekli öğretim yöntemi, kontrol grubunda ise geleneksel öğretim yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Matematik Başarı Testi kullanılmıştır. Toplanan veriler ITEMAN ve SPSS 16.0 programında analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonunda, bilgisayar destekli matematik öğretim yönteminin geleneksel yönteme göre matematik başarısını daha fazla artırdığı gözlemlenmiştir. This study has been conducted to examine the effects of the computer-assisted mathematics teaching on the topic of "prisms" which is a sub-field of the "geometric objects" in the curriculum of the Secondary School 8th Grade students. The research model is the quasi - experimental design model with pre-test end-test control groups. The study was conducted in 2013-2014 Academic Year, Spring Term, in the city of Sakarya, Adapazarı County, at Fatih Secondary School with fifty-four 8th Grade students consisting of experimental and control groups. The study was conducted with Class 8A (27 students) and Class 8B (27 students). The computer-assisted teaching method was used in the experimental group, and the traditional teaching methods were used in the control group. The Mathematical Success Test was used as the data collection tool. The collected data were analyzed with the ITEMAN program and the SPSS 16.0 program. At the end of the study, it was determined that the computer-assisted mathematics teaching method increased the mathematical success rates of the students when compared with the traditional methods.
