Ortaokul öğrencilerinin değer yönelimleri ile başarı düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada ortaokul öğrencilerinin değer yönelimleri ile akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişkiyi ve farklı değişkenlere göre değer yönelimleri ve akademik başarıları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olup olmadığını ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla "Ortaokul öğrencilerinin değer yönelimleri ve akademik başarıları arasında bir ilişki var mıdır?" ana problemine; cinsiyet, yaş ve ödev yapma süreleri değişkenleri göz önüne alınarak cevap aranmıştır. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemleri içinde yer alan genel tarama modellerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışma grubunu 2018-2019 eğitim- öğretim yılında Sakarya ili Hendek ilçesindeki bir ortaokulda öğrenim gören 596 ortaokul öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma grubunun seçimi olasılıksız örnekleme yöntemlerinden gelişigüzel (kolay ulaşılabilir) örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada veriler Değer Yönelimleri Ölçeği (DYÖ) ve öğrencilerin bir önceki eğitim-öğretim yılına ait ders geçme defterlerinden elde edilen ders notu bilgileriyle elde edilmiştir. Araştırma problemlerinin çözümlenebilmesi için öncelikle normallik varsayımı test edilmiştir. Normallik varsayımını test edebilmek amacıyla değişkenlere ait basıklık ve çarpıklık katsayıları incelenmiştir. Elde edilen basıklık ve çarpıklık katsayılarına göre verilerin analiz edilmesinde basit doğrusal regresyon, Pearson Korelasyon katsayısı, ilişkisiz örneklemler-t testi, Mann Whitney U testi, Tek yönlü Anova ve Kruskal Wallis testleri kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analiz edilmesinde SPSS 17.0 paket programı ile araştırma problemlerinin anlamlılığını test etmek için 0.05 anlamlılık derecesi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında öğrencilerin iyi oluş değer yönelimleri ile Türkçe, matematik, DKAB, fen bilimleri, sosyal bilgiler ve İngilizce derslerinin akademik başarıları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve düşük düzeyde pozitif yönlü bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin başarı değer yönelimleri ile Türkçe, matematik, DKAB, fen bilimleri, sosyal bilgiler ve İngilizce dersleri akademik başarıları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve düşük düzeyde negatif yönlü bir ilişki bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular kavramlarla ilgili alan yazın kapsamında detaylı şekilde tartışılmış ve araştırmanın sonuçlarına ve ileride yapılacak araştırmalara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

In this study, it is aimed to find out whether there is a significant difference between the value orientations and academic achievements of the middle school students according to the different variables. For this purpose, the main problem of "Is there a relationship between the value orientations and academic achievements of secondary school students?" were searched by taking into consideration gender, age and homework time variables. The research was conducted with correlational survey model from the general survey models included in the quantitative research methods. The study group consisted of 596 secondary school students in a secondary school in the Hendek district of Sakarya province in the 2018-2019 academic year. The selection of the research group was determined by random sampling method(easily accessible) using randomly-probability sampling. The data were obtained by using the Value Orientation Scale (DSI) and the course grade information obtained from the students' passbooks for the previous academic year. In order to solve the research problems, firstly the normality assumption has been tested. Skewness and skewness coefficients of variables were examined for testing the assumption of normality. Simple linear regression, Pearson's correlation coefficient, unrelated samples-t test, Mann Whitney U test, One-way Anova and Kruskal Wallis tests were used to analyze the data according to the obtained skewness and skewness coefficients. In analyzing data, SPSS 17.0 software package was used with0.05 significance level in order to test the significance of the research problems. Within the scope of the research, a statistically significant and low positive positive relationship was found between the students' well-being value orientations and the academic achievements of Turkish, mathematics, religious culture and ethics, science, social studies and English courses. It was found that there was a statistically significant and low level negative relationship between the achievement value orientations of students and the academic achievements of Turkish, mathematics, religious culture and ethics, science, social studies and English courses. The findings related to the concepts were discussed in detail in the literature and suggestions were made regarding the results of the research and future researches.
