Beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal bilgiler dersinde misafirperverlik değerindeki değişim ve sürekliliğe ilişkin değerlendirmeleri

Abstract

Bu araştırma ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin sevdikleri karakterlerin yer aldığı metinlerin öğrencilerin okuma motivasyonlarına ve okumaya yönelik tutumlarına etkisinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmada nicel araştırma modelleri temel alınarak yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Bu modelin çalışma grubunu Sakarya ili Hendek ilçesinde bir ilkokulda 4.sınıfta okuyan 26 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın bağımsız değişkeni öğrencilerin sevdikleri karakterlerin yer aldığı metinlerdir. Araştırmanın bağımlı değişkenleri ise okuma motivasyonu ve okumaya yönelik tutumdur. Araştırmada nicel verilerin analizinde nonparametrik testler kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında yapılan ölçümlerin istatistiki analizleri sonucunda deney grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin okumaya yönelik tutum ölçeğinin toplam ön test ve son test puanları arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık varken kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin okumaya yönelik tutum ölçeğinin toplam ön test ve son test puanları arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmektedir. Sevdikleri karakterlerin yer aldığı metinlerle okumalar yapan deney grubundaki öğrencilerin geleneksel metinlerle okumalar kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre son tutum testi toplam puanları arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu görülmektedir. Deney grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin ön test ve son test okuma motivasyonu puanları karşılaştırıldığında ölçeğin alt faktörlerinden okuma zorluğu algısı, okuma yeterliliği, okumaya yönelik çaba ve toplam puanlarında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık olmakla birlikte okuma motivasyonu ölçeğinin okumanın sosyal yönü alt faktöründe istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık yoktur. Kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrencilere uygulanan okuma motivasyonu ön test ve son test puanlarının istatistiksel olarak karşılaştırılması sonucunda okuma motivasyonu ölçeğinin alt faktörlerinde ve toplam puanlarda istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık yoktur. Deney ve kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin son test okuma motivasyonu puanları karşılaştırıldığında okuma motivasyonu ölçeğinin okuma zorluğu algısı, okuma yeterliliği, okumaya yönelik çaba alt faktörleri ile toplam puanlar arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık olmasına rağmen okumanın sosyal yönü alt faktöründe istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık yoktur. Öğrencilerin sevdikleri karakterlerin yer aldığı metinlerin onların okuma motivasyonlarını ve okumaya yönelik tutumlarını geliştirdiği görülmektedir. It is the culture and value judgments that hold societies together and differ societies from each other from past to present. As the culture changes over time some changes in the value judgements occur, too. The task of societies is to convey the elements of change and sustainability towards the new generations properly and to ensure cultural sustainability. The important point to be taken into consideration in this process is that this change and sustainability should be taught in a system based on certain causes and results. The most important task in demonstrating this change and sustainability to the younger generations in the education system is accomplished by the social studies course. The main aim of this study is to explore how the fifth-graders perceive the differences in the value of hospitality which is one of our cultural values from past to present and how they interpret these differences and changes. The research was conducted in accordance with the action research that is one of qualitative research methods. The study group is composed of 5th grade students of Sakarya Akyazi Imam Hatip Secondary School in 2017/2018 Education Year as 20 students from 5/A and 30 students from 5/C branches, 50 in total. Data collection process consists of students' own research phase reports, course process results reports, oral history process reports and focus group interview data. The data obtained from the interview were evaluated by descriptive analysis. Following the research ,when the perceptions of students for change and sustainability are reviewed,it is seen that students can reach the skill of the change and sustainability in the three processes to a certain extent. According to the processes, it is seen that in the research process, students can notice the change in cultural elements but they can't follow the chronogoly of the change in time. Also it is determined that students aren't good at enough to explain the change and sustainability in a certain cause and effect relation. It is determined that students are good at enough to comprehend the change and sustainability in the process of lesson and oral history.Besides, in these processes, it is seen that students can explain the change and sustainability in our culture in a certain chronology and as basing on cause and effect relation. From this point of study, it is seen that in social studies, students can comprehend the change and sustainability in our culture and reach information on their own if the necessary guidance are provided.It is seen that the practises done that are aiming at making the knowledge learned permanent has a positive effect and cause excitement on students. In the sequence of the research, it is inferred that it is necessary to use various techniques and get necessary activities done to embody the knowledge taught to get students comprehend the causes and effects of the change and sustainability.
