dc.description.abstract Health institutions are labor intensive services. Among the purposes of these institutions are the inclusion of qualified and experienced employees, ensuring that these personnel continue to work in the hospital and increasing their commitment to the hospital. It is possible to define organizational climate as the way in which occupants perceive the current psychological state in the organization. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of organizational climate on organizational commitment. The research was conducted in a private hospital in Istanbul with 350 bed capacity and 501 employees. Within the scope of the study, it was aimed to reach all employees but 179 (35%) health employees were reached. A positive relationship between organizational commitment and organizational climate (r = 0.626) was found. The regression model designed to reveal the effect of organizational climate on organizational commitment is statistically significant. Findings of the study show that organizational climate influences organizational commitment positively (R2 = 0.392). In order for health organizations to survive in an intensely competitive environment, it is up to the existing employees to remain in the organization and to make it an institution preferred by employees. For this reason, studies to make the organizational climate within the organization positive are considered important for the organization to achieve its long-term goals.
